to see whether or not the power steering is causing the shaking i am feeling. I am tired of taking the car....already changed my motor mounts and front wheel bearings......and I still have the same fucking problem! The only two option left of what can be wrong are the power steering or the front axles. So I want to check if removing power steering will eliminate the problem!

If your steering wheel is shaking when you are driving, you either have an alignment problem, bad tires, bad front rotors, or all three. Try rotating the tires first if the back ones are good. If that doesn't work, go have your rotors replaced by dealer. Finally, if that doesn't work, go have an alignment done. Sears does computerized alignment for $69.00, or take it to the dealer. BTW, the dealer sould cover all of this if you still have the bumber to bumber warranty which is 4yrs/50K, and what kind of dealer have you been taking it to that cant find out what the problem is? Well, I hope this helps a little.

Well, thanks for the guesses, but its none of the above. Alaignment was done, 4 brand new SO-3's just put on, and new x-drilled rotor put on (had problem before and after new rotors). My warranty is over and I need to fix it quick.

ALL i WANT TO KNOW IS: HOW DO I REMOVED POWER STEERING??

You have already answered yourself. Removing the belt would negate the steering boost.

Just take off the belts. That way you can also reengage the power steering if you want.

Is power steering the only thing that runs off of that belt? If I remove the belt, can I still drive the car normally?

A bad alignment DOES NOT cause a vibration in the steering wheel (wears the hell out of your tires though). Alignment shops don't want you to know that because they make a fortune off un-needed alignments. Most likely causes are wheel balance or rotors. Also, are the tires relatively new? If so, have you had them checked for out of round?

Yes, the power steering pump is the only thing driven by that belt. There are two belts used and the power steering one is idependant of all other accessories.
