Removing Grey/Black marble Dash

Well it looks like I am going to purchase a 2001 black/ black CL-S
I was wondering how to remove the marble/wood stuff that is on the radio, cupholder doors and dash. I realy dont like it and prefer the stock form. Is it costly to replace?

From what I've heard it is extremely difficult to remove/replace. It's not impossible, but it's very hard. I'm also not sure what's under it, so you have to try to find something to replace it with b/c it would most likely look nasty with nothing there. I'm also not sure what you mean that you like the stock form... the "marble" stuff is stock on the dark interiors.....

just curious, by why are you getting a 2001 when you have a 2002?

You should be able to remove what they've installed. You'll ruin the pieces you take off, but the surfaces underneath should be ok. Might need to use some googone afterwards. No big deal.

Ooops, wait... just went back and re-read your post. If it's coming on the dash, radio, and door's, etc.... that's an add-on kit. Why would you remove it? If they're charging you for it, it probably runs around $200-$300 from the dealer. As for removing it... I think you just have to pull like hell, then use some Goo-Gone to remove the residue left behind. Personally, I like the added trim (I put it on my Christmas list), but to each their own!!

If you live in Houston, I would gladly exchange mine with yours. But too bad
