removing front bumper?
OK, I tried to remove my front bumper on my 03 to get my headlights out so they could be cleared. There are three screws in the top of the bumper, in the middle, under the hood that we could not get out for anything. Almost seems like they are there so that you cannot get the bumper off. Anybody else have these or know how to get them out?

Glad to see you are having problems with that too. I got off two of them... but the third one was just so impossible that I stripped it. Subsequently I drilled it and that didn't work either!! So... I just cut the bumper around it.

I got mine off...2 easy and 1 very hard. I think they're actually painted over...try to take a razor blade and work it around the edges to free up the paint.

I know it's an old thread, but I just went through this successfully about 15 minutes ago.
Wanted to add my experience for the benefit of those that search the topic later.
I started using a #2 phillips head screwdriver but it wasn't working and I was started to strip one of the screw heads.
I went out and got a #3 phillips head extension (the kind with a hex end to be inserted in a ratchet or electric screwdriver or power drill).
The first two came out just by hand-turning with the #3 phillips head extension inserted into a screwdriver handle designed to accept it. They came out by hand-turning but it took a little *pop* to get it started.
The third one was the one that I had originally begun stripping. This one wouldn't come out by hand so I inserted the #3 phillips head extension into a variable speed power drill and set the drill at low rpm, high torque. It just took a little to get it to *pop* and start turning. After that I just unscrewed it by hand with no tools.
