I raced today against a Chevy SUV of some sort...killed him nicely ...but, that's not the topic really. While I was accelerating, I left it in gear 2 for too long and I think I red-lined my car a couple of times. I think what happened was that the needle hit the red-line and then would not rev no more and then dropped down to 6000-ish RPMS while I was still WOTing...As I mentioned, this happened twice...Now, is this bad for my car?

 

Your Rev limiter kicked in so you wouldn't blow your engine. Check it out in the manual.
