Recommendations on batteries...
It looks as if I will be needing to replace my battery soon, and basically have decided on sticking with 1 of these 2 brands. I'm either going with Interstate, or Optima.
Anyone have any comments, or problems?? I'm more concerned about the Optima problems I may encounter, i'm looking at the Yellow Top as my main battery, but was talking to someone and they recommended that I not use the Yellow Top as a starting battery.
Also anyone think we might have any problems getting that '1 size' Optima to fit? I like the Optima's because of the maintenance free level of them, and that will come in very handy with the audio system I have in the vehicle.
Again any comments, and or opinions would greatly be appreciated.

I have friends with big mudder trucks(they have Optimas) and about anything electrical they can have wired is on that truck(winch, tons of extra lights, they even have what i call the "mini-fridge"(its actually a cooler that that has a little refridgration unit in it)(they use that to keep their beer cold
:P ) but what I'm getting at is they are TOUGH on batteries. then one night we were bored and wanted to play football out in this field(of course its dark) so we brought his big truck around hit the mud running lights we had kind of mini stadium lights.(he didn't even start his truck and left it there for a good hour or hour and half) with all the lights on and i thought for sure his battery would be toasted. it cranked right over like normal. I was like dang man.
plus with Optimas you can mount them anyway(including upside down) and they won't leak.
as far as interstate battery their what i'd concider a grade above your Wal-Mart or K-Mart battery but not as good as a Optima. so if your on a budget(it will save you 30-40 bucks roughly) go with your Interstate. I got a Interstate battery on my motorcycle. it does a nice job it keeps everything powered up.
I personally in my car have a EverLast(i think that's the brand) I got it at Auto Zone(it's been a good battery)it's about 1/2 the cost of your Optima.
I've heard some bad things about Die Hard. my good friend's grandma had it (i forget what make of car exactly it was) like Caddy or Buick(some old timer car) about once a month she was toasting a Die Hard. Then we got her a different brand and the car was fine. It was wierd

I always thought Die-Hard was the best.
That’s all I’ve ever used for replacement over the years.
I only ever had ONE go bad early and they deducted 50% off the replacement unit as credit from the bad one.
It was a 7-Year GOLD model and it only lasted like 4-years.
They gave me like 40-dollars credit on the new one.
Truthfully, I think almost ALL car batteries are made by just a handful of manufactures.
It’s best to just look for the longest warranty and best price that you can get in the proper size.

Food for thought: I remember hearing a few years ago that there is really only one or two battery manufacturers for the entire US market and that all varieties of battery were just rebranded.
I've had good luck with DieHards as well. I ran my Ingetra with the Autozone brand for the last 5 years or so. I don't know much about Optima except people with big audio systems use them.
Aftermarket batteries are always worlds better then the stock battery.
