Must be a mistake. Or a smear campaign by the evil Japanese car company conspiracy. Everyone knows German cars are perfect.

I believe they stopped producing the 523. They now offer the 525, 530 (replacing the 528) and the great 540.

Manufacturer's defects are covered by a warranty. Safety-related defects are covered by a recall. Learn the difference. There aren't any other types of recalls.

The US Government is not going to participate in helping a Company correct their mistakes with a "recall" unless failure to correct will result in [death] or whatever.

You don't get to recall your 1 million cans of paint because the blue actually looks a little green. That's your problem, not the Government's. Image if the Government had to participate in every single instance of shotty workmanship. They would be completely overwhelmed.

We've had this discussion before. Acura probably has already put out the word to fix those "transmissions". But it probably won't show up on the official list of recalls, probably not.

Well smartyman, it could very well be a safety hazard to have your car randomly drop to second gear from fifth and having someone rear end you because of that sudden speed change, shoving you off a road and down an embankment.

You don't know that it's not a safety issue having a transmission problem, so don't act like you know what's going to happen to every person who has their tranny die on them. They might not all be on a side road going 25mph when it gives out. There's a good chance it could give out in a situation that would at the very least cause an accident for the Acura, let alone whatever vehicles or people are around it.

Transmission failure

Transmission failure while driving is a safety issue. Driving at highway speeds a loss of power is dangerous. Acura must have transmission recall.

Not to mention if you're pulling out onto a busy road or merging onto a highway. There are many scenarios where it could be life-threatening or at the very least cause an accident. To say otherwise is stupid.
