Rear View mirror doesn't stay in position

I recently purchased a 2001 CL Type-S with 70K miles; am new to AcuraZine Community. It appears the pivot mechanism where the rear view mirror is attached to the stalk is worn and I need to replace the mirror. The car is real clean so I don't think the previous owner yanked on the mirror to adjust it, but don't know for sure. Regardless, I have to get it replaced. Is this something anyone has seen before? And is it something that's just attributed to poor design/manufacture? Thanks.

Well if he had a system then it could have just loosened it over time. That happened in my TL because eventually the bass got the mirror loose enough to fall

I have the same problem, I'm constantly adjusting it because it falls or moves to all of these awkward positions. It usually happens when I hit a bump or my music is up really loud. I'm not sure where to buy a new one, but you can probably find one at your local auto parts store or if that fails your Acura dealer.
