My '01 has the Auto Dark feature on the rear view mirror. It doesn't seem to work anymore. Anyone else have this problem? Can it be fixed, or does it need replaced?

OK, does anyone have a mirror for sale from a parts car?('01 or any that fits) Mine just as a little spot the size of a silver dollar that gets dark anymore.

 

Are you sure it doesnt work because you cant actually see it getting dark or light

after like 5 minutes peoples light in my mirror arent as bright

Mine went out an thank god i had my warranty in effect. Someone else will prob chime in an tell you if it is covered by acura, but my guess is it isnt. If u have to replace it the cost will run u bout 1-150 installed

its broken, you'll need to replace it.

 

Its a known problem, my 01 CL has the same issue. A brand new mirror froma dealer will run you $80-$100. Self install.

 

Lots of them on ebay. I might give that a try.

Yes I know, but this question has been answered in several threads... I even had my own where I asked someone to scan the helms book on how to do replacement

i looked into those compass ones. but didnt look to hard cause my mirror replacement was free.

the spot in the mirror is there because the hot weather over the years leaked out a little bit of the anti-glare gel in the mirror. It's so hot in TX that I only have a tiny spot of antiglare left, and when that's gone, it'll be just like a normal mirror.
