Rear view Mirror

When I press the button for auto dim on my acura 2001 CL rear view mirror, it only dimes 3 quarters of the mirror from top to bottom. Do I need a whole new rear view mirror to fix this or do I need a new part?

go get a new one, if your still under warranty. Its only gonna get worse and sooner or later it wont dim at all.

If you are under warranty then fix it the next time you are near the dealer...call ahead. I can't imagine that they keep the rear view mirror in stock. Mine freaks out once in a while and stays dim but with the tint and all I figure that it doesn't know what to do.

Normally the whole thing dims when the button is pressed in. Can't get it replaced free. My CL had 62,000 miles on it. Does anyone know if its a part i need replaced or is it the whole rear view mirror?
