rear spoiler

O.K.
Should I purchase the spoiler through the dealer and have them also install it, or purchase through A&H motorsport and have a body shop install it. $795.00 at the dealer installed, or $479.00 from A&H plus whatever the body shop charges for the labor.

labor from dealer should be less than $140... add that to the ahmotors spoiler price and it is much less than what your dealer wants from you.

The Fleet Manager at the Acura dealer I purchased my CL from put me in touch with a company who installs an identical wing at my location for $399.00 plus tax. They did a great job and I didn't have to leave my house. However, I will give you one word of caution: When the dealer installs a rear wing, it comes in a kit with a pair of stiffer trunk springs to account for the added weight of the wing (presumably to keep the trunk lid from crashing down on you).

The wing I had installed did not come with these springs and Acura does not sell them separately. I don't see any problem with the trunk lid now, although it feels more "balanced" if you will, meaning that when you raise the lid, it doesn't spring up like it did without the weight of the spoiler. It does stay up on its' own just fine however, and I think the cost savings is well worth it.

$700 or more for a wing? Price gouging at its' worst.

I just installed my spoiler tonight and man the springs where a bitch even with the tool! I strongly advise anyone thinking about doing this to get metric drill bits as well the save some time and headache on the holes!
