Rear seats don't fold down?
I did a quick search, and only found one post that mentioned the rear seat NOT being able to fold down. I found this out the hard way when I tried to load my snowboard. For $32k, all I have to say is LAME...

yeah, its a major pain in the ass.
But you can fit the snowboard in the back seat. When i go to tahoe, i place 2 snowboards in the back seat. Just make sure the boards are wrapped or you will scratch some of the interior under the back window

I am bummed that the seats don't fold down too. I wishthey did so I could store more shit in my car. Oh well.... if I want to go snowboarding, I just put my snowboard (in it's bag) in the back seat and only have room for myself and one passenger.

I was told that the rear seats don't fold down in order to better qualify for the 5-Star crash-test rating. Maybe that was a buncha B.S. though...like the first Nav update being free...hah!
BUT
If you look at the seats closely, doesn't it seem as if their contours would have to be dramatically altered in order to allow for the backs to fold down anyway? I think they would have to lose just about all of their "bucket" characteristics. I would rather have sexy seats that made the ladies cream on a regular basis than to have the very occasional (at least for me) convenience of having seats that do fold down.
Also the rear deck would/could not be as stiff/supported if they couldn't be mounted and integrated into the seat backs. :::vibrate:::
It IS safer for passengers in the rear seat this way too.

I could care less. I had fold down seats in my other car. I didn't ever use them. I had a sub box behind them, so I couldn't pass anything through. If I need to carry stuff, I use my Explorer.

Not all of us have 2 cars. I just have the CL and fold down seats would come in real handy at times. That's just about the only thing I miss about my old Integra.

my god, people, is there NOT ENOUGH room in our huge trunk for your shit????
we don't need split folding seats...the pass-through is good for a snowboard, ski's, or fishing poles...plus, u got the back seats if necessary...if u wanted more room, u should've bought a UHaul!!

I'm just appauld that ya'll didn't find that out during delivery or shortly therebefore. C'MON!!!!!!!
Yea...it sucks, 'cause I used to race road-bikes and I REFUSE to even ponder a bike rack......but it does provide for better handling (if you can call it that) and safety.

I managed to get a 6' shelf in my ford taurus, but that was only after 30 rounds of the funky chicken...... If the back seat folded down it would have been trivial.
A folding back seat was HIGH on my want list, but I had to sacrifice it. ah well, I'll have to live with it! I still have the taurus - maybe I'll just pull out the whole back from that car, period.

i wonder if u all understand that THIS car was not meant to carry bikes or filing cabinets, etc etc etc...yes it would b nice if it did, but don't criticize the car for NOT having the ability...the car's got more than sufficient trunk space for daily living.

Its just kind of disappointing that an Accord, Civic, and RSX get fold down seats, but we don't. I knew about it before I bought. It obviously wasn't a deal killer for me, but it would have been nice to have.

maybe we should initiate a class-action lawsuit against acura to compel them to retrofit our cars with power folding rear seats...
personally, I have no desire to carry lumber, bicycles, furniture, dead bodies, etc. in my cl-s (I refuse to live like a college student anymore ), so it really doesn't bother me one way or the other. but I can certainly understand the frustration for those folks that do want/need to use the car in that fashion, especially knowing that there are hondas further down the food chain with the feature.

I am not usually one to say stuff like this but you should have done your homework before you bought the car.
I looked at the old CL before I bought the car I traded in on the CLS. The seats didn't fold down then either. If I remember correctly, they didn't fold down on the TL or the Legend either.
I agree, it sucks.

Yeah I am with sundance, people should do their homework before they buy a car. It really sucks when you buy something and then realize that there are other things you need that the product you bought does not offer. Our car does offer basically everything else though, so I am not complaining. I can deal with being deprived of folding backseats. I use the heated front seats more anyway.
