So I know the rear emblem is secured somehow through a couple holes in the trunk, but I don't want to go digging around trying to figure it out and screw it up. What is holding it in place and can it be re-applied with ease?

 

all the emblems are held on by a 3m sticker basically. i removed mine with fishing line, then ur left ith the sticker portion which is caked on there hardcore. u gotta get that off and then ur good. the (A) symbol in the middle of the trunk is the same but there are 2 tabs behind it. which is y i have not done mine

 

For the (A) - There are two push rivets. If you take the trunk lid liner off, you can see where they come through the sheet metal.

If you are looking to remove it and reinstall it, that might be difficult. Those pins usually snap off.

 

Yeah I've been looking into blacking them out and I know a guy who does hydrographics so I guess it's just plastic dip then! Thanks guys.

I just Plasti Dipped my rear logo. Take off the trunk lid liner and you will see the tabs. i used a flathead to push the tabs out. they came right out then just peel it off the car. to reinstall i used an auto/marine sealant and the tabs popped right back into place.
