Rear defroster Interference

I just tried my rear defroster for the first time tonight and as soon as i turned it on the radio started to pick up static. Oh annoying as that. Everytime the rear window frosts up i have to play a cd. Anyone else having this problem? Any fixes?

i just had mr rl in for the same thing.
when you turn on the defroster it turns staticy.
they are replacing the whole rear window b/c it is one unit with the window.
i found out my bumper to bumper ran out 2 days ago but they are still going to cover it

trust me take it to the dealer if its under warranty

It might not be that big a problem for you.
I had this happen a few years ago with my 2000TL when I turned on the rear defroster & FM.
I only had the static in certain places while playing FM it just went away.
The FM radio station I was playing was located 70 miles away from where I was but they come in clear. This was in Southern Maryland & I was listening to Radio station from Washington DC. that is about 70 miles away. Most of the stations come in loud in clear but that morning I got static when I turned on the rear defroster. I don't know what else I had on in the car at the time. The headlights, defroster, radio, A/C along with mirror defoger were on. I have never had that problem repeat itself but I know exactly what your talking about. Last night while leaving Southern Maryland on the way home to DC. I had just about everything on in the car. I rarely listen to FM radio because I have XM radio but I have the XM modulator so it still comes thru FM radio. I have not had a repeat of that static problem with rear defroster being on. I have a question was it all FM stations or just the one you had on?

I have the same problem. The bottom defrost strip is bad, causing the static, and it doesn't heat to defrost the bottom of the window.
The dealer said they would have to replace the rear window.
I decided to leave it alone. I figure the dealer will mess it up.
In Houston it doesn't stay cold very long anyway.
