Keep in mind your gonna have 2 holes in your trunk because that's what holds in the A and also your gonna have an A tan line too. Paint wise you shouldn't have a problem unless you scratch your car removing the A.

Richard,

read again bro.. he said everything except the "A"

Nicky,
I've had my Silver TL since the beginning of December 2000. I debadged my 3.2-TL off about 2 weeks ago..
The paint looks just fine underneth.. you can't even tell there was anything there.. just be careful, take your time..

floss works great..

to get the leftover sticky stuff, I used my fingers to gently peel it off..

Nicky Pass...

if you've been maintaining your vehicle's exterior (which I imagine everyone on this list does and from your sig line it seems that you do), I can't imagine you would have any tan lines especially considering that your car is barely 1.5 years old.

I just debadged my buddy's 2000 TL. He never put any Zaino on his ride and all we did was through some Meguiars on it and it was perfect.

Take the CL portion of the CL-TypeS badge. Look for a tan line and go from there.

nah i dont think ull get tanlines....
use a heatgun like i did..the thing comes off in 10 seconds...
and to remove the excess glue...use WD-40... takes it off with ease.....i think debadging is the easiest mod for the cl.. haha..

Easy as pie. Take a pot of boiling water. Pour it over the trunk running down across the badges. Peel them off with your fingers. Use some alcohol or goo gone or something like that to remove the remaining sticky and you are bare ass naked!

i peeled all my badging off today. the trunk was facing the sun (and hot) so i just pulled the emblems right off w/ my fingers. nice and easy and it left behind no sticky stuff then i rubbed the spots w/ perfect it II (fine buffing compound) until they were gone. rewaxed the back of the trunk and i was done, perfect.

I was thinking about just taking off the 3.2CL type-S badging and leaving the A and the A C U R A for that symetrical look. Anyone done that b4, and if so, got pics?
Thanks-

Yeah that looks good, but I figured I'd start slow. Then later down the road get rid of the A C U R A if I felt like it. So if anyone is planning on debadging the whole rear, except the A, do me a favor; take off the 3.2 CL type-s badge first and take a pic b4 you take off the ACURA.
Thanks-

the best way would be to buy new emblems. but i bet you could reinstall the old ones, on mine the sticky stuff is intact. if it wasn't you could peel off the old stuff and use new 3m 2 sided tape and trim w/ an exacto blade. then you would have to make sure everything lined up.
