Real fog lamps?

Yesterday I put new bulbs in for the stock "fog lamps". I used the Polarg M4 (5w white/blue bulb). I noticed the "fog lamps" don't switch off when the high beams are on. I know in Virginia you can't have more than four lights on at once. Does anyone know if it is legal to have these lights on because of the lower wattage of the bulb? Will installing a higher wattage bulb (making it an actual fog lamp) be illegal?

I don't know what wattage a bulb would be to make it a "Driving light", but I'm sure it is more than the 18 watts you just put in.

i have the piaa 19224 (i think they are)...they're 16 or 18 watts. i also have a pair of catz auxillary driving lamps. i passed the inspection last month. the way i have the catz lights is when the high beam goes on the catz lights go off. those stock driving lights on our cls, i think, my inspector didn't consider them as actual driving lights cuz they're basically useless and the bulbs were so small. the inspector didn't ask me any questions!!

How many of us would actually consider the Road lamps a "projector" type lamp? Cause here in CA, according to the lights law, you can have upto 4 "projecting" type lights on at once and it makes nearly no provision for "marker" lights... So if someone in law enforcements doesn't think our roadlamps actually do much, then here in CA, the CL only has 2 lights on.

You mean the M6's (there not fogs), easy. Either philips to take out the housing from the front, or reach behind and pull them out. Be careful not to get any oil (including finger prints on the new bulbs).
