Exclamation Re: Intake Fitment

To all the knowledgable Acurazine Members.

I have a purchase pending and I need an quick answer to a fairly basic question.

Will an AEM CAI from a 03 6MT fit my 01 Auto?

I tried contacting AEM and have received no response yet.

I have received information to support both yes and no and looking for clarification from the forum.

Thanks in advance.

No, it is too long. But I guess you might be able to get it cut so it fits.

Is that the only issue....the length?

Has anybody done this before?

I tried a search but not sure if that functionality has resumed on Acurazine since I yielded no results.

Cool.

So it wasn't too bad right?

Is there any adverse action from cutting the intake?

I wouldn't think so. It's just a pipe.

No, just cut the pipe. My AEM wouldn't fit even though it was the correct part. But the filter was rubbing against the road lamps. You might want to check that out too. Might have to trim an inch or two on the other end.

Okay, cool.

Thanks everybody so far for the good advice.

I will try to look into the issue with the roadlamps.

F*N roadlamps!

Would it be better for the intake's performance to just yank them out and put '03 inserts?

The '03 inserts would have to be cut so the back will be open.

Ok, do you think it would actually improve the performance of the intake?

Or not worth it?

Nothing measurable. Just get it & measure the pipe & cut it.
