Rattling Noise....

Hey guys/gals...

Sorry if this is a repost, but i'm hearing a rattling noise coming from the back windshield area. I hear it if a road is rough/bumpy or if i have my music up loud enuff to cause a vibration. I was just wondering if any of you have noticed this and if so what it is. Thanks in advance

Probably take out the 3rd brake light assembly if you already have a spoiler on, I don't see this as beeing too illegal, if at all.

Is it a rattle or a squeak? Kinda like when leather rubs together? If its the latter then its a known problem my dealers and its actually an easy fix.

not a squeek

Hey Chaptorial,

Definitely not a squeeking noise. It's very distinctive in that it's a rattling noise due to something. I even went back there in my back seat to feel around and touch things to see if i could see where it was coming from and i couldn't find it. But it's definitely there, b/c i hear it.

get used to it because ur going to have a lot of more rattles in the future.

TAKE OUT ur rear seat then take off ur rear deck.. put carpet under the rear deck with double sided tape. make sure the carpet wrap around the edge of the rear deck too. also make sure the rear seat belts are not touching the rear panel.

that rattle sux! i cant find it either. sounds like it's coming from the rear glass, or the rear right speaker area, but when i have passengers, i have them try to find it. they have said it sounds like it's coming from the front

i think that rear panel insulation idea is a good one. mission though. just put the music up.

call me crazy but I have a rattle from the front middle armrest/cupholder/storage area. The padded lid is not locking into place well enough. I thought it was coming from the side door, then he rear. I just rested my elbow on the armrest and I didn't hear it anymore, that's how I found it.

I have to re-tighten the screws in the center armrest cover every now and then because they keep coming loose. They're not stripped or anything, but it starts feeling loose after a while so I just re-tighten everything and it's cool for a while.

I had a similar issue, but it ended up being the torsion bars in the trunk rubbing together when going over bumps, some suggested rapping them in heat shrink wrap, I just put electrical tape around them where they were rubbing together, which fixed it for now, but of course other rattles and what not have shown up, there just no end to them, I'v given up and just accepted them, but reguardless I will not be buying another acura.......I had a freaking 2000 altima before and that thing never had one rattle...
