Rattle

Does anyone know where this rattle might be located, ask the dealer to get rid of it but they will not. Basically when I open up my trunk lid, sometimes I hear a little noise on the right side. When driving, and making a left turn, i hear this clicking sound and then when im driving straight again its fine. Also when going straight over little bumps and potholes I hear the rattling sound in the back again. I do have a spoiler, is it that brake light thing, which I dont even know what that means?

You should not be surprised if CL rattles.... Just give up, you will never fix all the rattles....
The good thing that other cars like Maxima SE rattle as well... so we are not the only one.
The bad news that you have to live with it, or sell it....
You'll never fix all the rattles...

my other car is a 323i and it is slow as balls. BUT, the friggin thing eats bumps like nothing and makes no extra noises. That alone makes the car feel more valuable. I've hit the same dips and bumps in my cl-s and the car jiggles for seconds after hitting. I drove my sister's 97 accord and that friggin thing sounds even worse. its like a diving board on wheels, pitiful.

Um no! I only have one rattle so far, and I want to fix it... why would I give up about one rattle. Can anyone answer my initial question and suggests places where the rattle might be. I think it might actually be something loose in the trunk lid liner.

I started with one rattle... now I have several... they come and go... some are so tinny that you can only hear small clicks and ticks hear and there... I dont even pay attention to those.
I'd expect less rattles in BMW, its made in germany and from what I heard they make things tight and put a lot of thought to prevent unwanted vibrations, noises, and rattles.

Sounds like you may have the infamous rear deck rattle. I had it. It's caused by the brake light (above the deck) squeaking against the rear window. Your dealer can fix it using the same tape they use to fix the moonrof rattle. They just tape the inside of the light housing where it rubs against the window. Drove me nuts till I got it fixed. If you search this board for "rear deck rattle" you'll get more on this. Good luck.

Do you know if dealer will do anything to fix front dash rattle ?
I had my rear deck fixed, its much better now... but you know, car ticks/squeaks here and there .... I don't even pay attention to small things, only major rattles.
