At a red light on rt 17 last night. I got next to a modded S2000, i had my windows open and his top was down. I looked over and said nice car, he said thanks, nice car too. He is about 30s i would say. I was like how fast can that do, hes like want me to show u. I said ya, that would be great, hes like, i'll stop at the white castle up the road. I said ok, give me 5 mins and I should be there. He smiled and said, u floor urs too, I go ok, even though that wont do anything. Light turns green, 1 car, 2 car, 3 car .... 1 mile ahead of me. hahaha i couldnt even stop myself from cracking up. And my foot was all the way at the floor going . anyways, went in white castle parking lot, guy showed me his car, pretty cool guy. Oh he was walking out of the store with a soda when i got in the parking lot. :o

I raced a buddies 02 s2000 with mugen headers and exhaust with my 03 cl-s 6speed stock (hks axle-back) a couple times and let me tell u it is realy a drivers race. The s2000 used the 7500 rpm lauch and me at about 3500. I won once and he did once but both times were really close.

 

lets not get into this one again... it could have happened but dont get used to it. if you find someone that knows how to drive, your stock +3hp isnt going to cut it

what does a stock S2k do in the 1/4 mile anyway?.. i thought stock vs stock the CLS(auto) and S2K is pretty close?..

 

stock s2000's do about 14 if you know how to drive them well

well it happened for sure cuz i was in the car driving . and about finding someone that knows how to drive, my man and I are EXCELLENT hence the high CORRECT rpm launches. I have also raced that s2k in my 93 bpu rx7 and my RSX-S and as much as i like the s2000 i think the cars acceleration is overated

 

S2k is a mid 14s car with an average driver at the wheel. With an exceptional driver it can run 13.9 or so, but mostly very low 14s.

 

S2K's low end torque and therefore HP is horrible. I'm betting CL-S beats the S2K in an average street race to like 60. But if the S2K launches from over 6k RPM, that is probably a different story. Over 6k RPM when you are in VTEC, that little S2K hauls ass.
People don't buy S2Ks to drag, they buy them for the twisties.

 

The best ever 1/4 mile for a bone stock S2K was a 13.8, but Stephen Papadokis, a professional was driving. The best Ive seen one run is a 13.8, but it had intake, exhaust, and a 55 shot. I know from personal experience, its a drivers race b/c I ran one that had intake and exhaust from a roll and a stop. Its still a car I wouldnt mind having as a beater

 

s2000's are definitely high 13 sec cars regardless of driver, unless they really can't drive!13.8 is definitely capable

 

No....A high 13s S2k is a rare feat. It takes an awesome driver and ideal condititons for this to happen. Most S2k drivers are lucky to run south of 14.5. A CL 6 speed will beat most S2k drivers on the road.

 

Nope I have a CL-P. The guy had a supercharger, exhaust, NOS and other stuff on it. It was heavily modded as he said. Before I even got to end of 2nd gear he was about 2-3 cars ahead already. As soon as I got to 3rd he went bye bye, at one point, I looked to the side just to make sure im not going backwards or anything, caues if you stare at his car, it seems like I am. haha and i couldnt stop laughing. I let off at 90 and he said he got up to 140 before he let off. He said his does 1/4 in high 11s low 12s. I dunno if i believe that but it sure was fast. I tried to catch up with my firends M3 before and this was muchhhhh harder.

ive seen a modded S2000 (intake, headers, exhaust, racing seats, carbon fiber top, custom body kit) do 15.5 at the track.....consistantly.....this was the guys first time at the track, but seriously, how bad can you be??

 

SO whats the deal here.....?. are S2Ks slightly faster than our cars or will eat our cars everytime???

Those cars are definitely over-rated with a shitty driver. Yesterday, I was behind a Red S2k and there was a late 20s - early 30s chick driving with the top down. I saw her weaving in out of traffic yesterday on New York Avenue, towards where it splits to 295/rt50. I decided to play and caught up to her and rode her bumper for a while. I hate the way she was driving because she kept weaving in and out of cars with no signals. She found an opening and gunned the car. That little shit moved, I switched over to ss (vsa) off, and punched it too. She got stuck behind a slow car and I was WOTing and she cut back over nearly causing us to wreck. She then gives me the FRIENDLY hand jesture EVENTHOUGH she cuts me off. Well, she punched it again knowing she phucked up and though she was going to get away from me, at this time I was not playing, I caught her and we were even for the next 100ft. She gave me this shocked look that I was still on her, The look I gave her back was "yes I am still beside you bitch." So yes I think they are fast cars but with professional clutch dropping drivers.

 

Yeah, a good driver will be a difference maker in a S2K, for sure.

I'll give mad props to an S2k if that thing is in the 12's......11's I cant see at all, even with a 200 shot and all the possible mods. I find it hard to believe this guy would ever be running in the 11's, but like I said, if he is.....prove it......tell him to post a time sheet.

 

the day my friend took this car to the track...the wing was off...not sure if it ever went back on what about those side skirts did you give his much of a look???reason i ask this car was from new york...this is florida in the pic...just figured how many yellow s2K's with comp blower and nitrous could there be?

 

Sorry I didnt pay much attention to the side skirts. It could have been him I guess. He was really cool about the whole thing showed me the car and all.

Zootking - He said it does low 12 high 11s. I dont believe him either but oh well. i wasnt gonna call him a liar, he was about twice my size, and my car is not exact fast enough to run away from him if i piss him off.

 

S2000 is a badass car, good story......
It is also a full blown sports car.

a guy here in NoVa has a vortech SC S2000 (1st is the country) w/ 75 shot running high 11's. theres a video of it beating an M coupe by 2-3 car lengths in a street race w/o nitrous. about 1/8 mile.

are stock S2000 faster than a 01 CLS with CAI? I was at a area where people were playing.... 2 S2K was at the scene... my friend with a WRX (intake and exhaust) beat both S2K. He beat one by 2 cars length and other by 3 cars length.... I think the max speed was around 160 KM/H... My friends were telling me to race him... so i said sure... funny thing is that the S2K owners were saying that i was auto and wouldn't race me. Me and my friends kept taunting the two to race by saying "chicken shit" "scare?" and stuff like that... at the very end they still wouldn't race me.... I understand that the 2 were losers and sucked shit at shifting because even a RSX-S with exhaust and intake beat one of the S2K.
