Ran a 300Z CF hood and Toro spoiler tonight

Coming home from work tonight I got passed by a early 90's Z with a Carbon Fiber hood, hood pins, a very tall rear spoiler and a temporary tag, after passing me he slowed down to a couple of car lengths ahead of me and just kept pace. This is a highway mind you and I KNOW where the cops sit but I was interested to see how I stood up to a Z, non turbo make note. We were coming up on one of THOSE spots so I waited and then when all was clear I catch up to the Z's door. It's 2 early 20-somethings and they nod as do I and I drop it to 3rd and gear and I am gone, hit the rev at 4th...doh!, (I know, I'm old and rusty, forgive me!) but still had a lengthy lead. I felt maybe I got a little jump on him so I slow down and let them catch up. I'm in 3rd now doing about 60 which is a sweet spot for the 6mt. He catches up, I honk twice and we both get an even go, kinda even actually up to 75 or so (but I attest that to a full tank of gas with only 50 miles driven) and then I start pulling him pretty hard, by 120 I had what seemed to be around 3-4 cars easy on him if not a little a little more .

I know those Z's are nothing like the 350's or or 370's of today, but the best part of all this when they caught up again the guy in the passenger seat says "That's supercharged, right?". His jaw hit the floorboard when I said it was stock with only a CAI and 6spd...awesome!, I love our cars!

LOL

I'd be more than willing to run one if anyone has a bolt-on CL-S in the NY or Philly area. Closest thing to a CL-S that i've ran is an 05 accord v6 6spd

You want to run a CL-S ? .... As in, you just want to run one because you think you will win? Or as in, you know you'll lose, but you just want to run one to see how badly you get beat?

As in, i want to run one to see what the outcome would be because i've never encountered one. I don't know whether i'd win or lose.

I don't know if proving a 3.2CLS is faster than a 2.3CL is worth opening up our engines for. I think everyone would be able to make an educated guess as to how badly you would get waxed.

LOL i see you don't visit the 1st gen forum much huh. That would be quite the uneducated guess to think I'd get "waxed".

Maybe these 2 photos and video will help:

Me vs 07 GTI 2.0T with intake, turbo back exhaust on a 40mph roll (in mexico lol)

....so u care to guess again?

Its not an H22. JDM H23a, thus my "2.3CL" badge is still relevant

Nice sleeper. I always thought if someone swapped a motor in those 2.3 CL's they would run well.

I need to check out the 1st gen forums more...

Thats a good question though. In America, there was never a VTEC H23, only the hybrid H23s which used the H22 VTEC head.

Then there was a VTEC H23A out of the Accord Wagon SiR and the AWD Accord wagon (blue valve cover).
