ran 03 cl type s 6speed on 1/8th mile
i ran my 03 cl type s 6 speed on a 1/8th mile track last night. for those of you from SD it was at qualcomm. i did alot of runs maybe around 10. this is the first time i ran this car so it took me a while to get used to it (i only had my car for 5 months).
there was a shit load of wheelspin if i launched at 4 with half throttle. so i ended feathering the clutch at 2.5 rpm, but even with that when vtec crosssed over there was a lil wheelspin. i have thermoblok spacers, xs headers. times where consistent 9.7 1/8th mile, 2.5 60 ft, 76 mph trap speed, .600 reaction.my best was 9.6 with a 2.4 60 ft., 76 mph trap speed, redlighted.

I went for first time on Friday. I am completely stock. My best run was 10.2. I have had the car for two weeks, I know how to drive a clutch but came from an auto for 2 years. I must say I need to learn to drive a lil better I too tried droppin at 3k and 2k with no luck. Way to much wheelspin(especially after dark)
They were runnin a NHRA series so I only got 4 runs. The last one I lined up with a vette that was runnin 7's. I beat him off the line but I ended up not getting a time at the end(WTF?!?) I THINK it was my best time but the only proof I have is the 10.2 so....
My best 60ft time was 2.393, my advice is don't rev just launch at 1.5k feather it to reduce spin once youre past 3-3.5 gun it. (Then again I don't have headers...Soon hopefully b-day around the corner) Will post slips soon.

---bring your front tires down to 22-24 psi. (depends if you have 40-45 series tires)
---heat it well (8-10sec) on the waterbox.
---clean up your tires after the waterbox by doing a quick wheelspin before the tree.
---skip the first three part if you are gonna run with street tires...
---it's better to chirp or wheelspin a little than bog.
---put ice on top of your engine in between runs.
---if you have coilovers, set up the rear damper on hard and 2 step down (from hard) on front.
---jack up the rear tires pressure to 40 psi.
that's all i can think of right now...

skip the waterbox, there is no need to use it on street tires. Waterbox is should be used if you have slicks.
Just drive around the waterbox and spin your tires once to knock off dirt
