Raised a bit and camber kits/alignment done

Camber kits worked perfectly.
Also I raised 3/4ths of an inch all around.
Alignment was done too.

The camber kits, for anyone else who wants them are:

Specialty Products
98-01 Accord

FRONT Adjust 1.5-3.0 #67320 $159

REAR Adjust up to 4.0 #67090 $139

I ordered them from:

Peter at Import Auto Performance
407-234-6134
importautoperformance@hotmail.com

Shipping was FREE in the 48 continental states, but I got 2-day shipping for $13.

He was very helpful and returned my call promptly. I would definitely order through him.

JRock,

Thanks for info. Time to spend another $300 for the chamber kits. Probably going to raise my car another half inch and get the camber kits installed. Lets us know how the car rides? Thanks again.

Well the 40 minute ride home was uneventful. Raising it three-quarters of an inch actually seems to have slightly smoothed the ride a bit. I didn't touch the spring rate, just the shock height adjustment.

It rides fine and with the alignment and camber kits it's nice and straight and smooth. My tech gave me a touch of negative camber as is preferred for handling, but still well within the acceptable normal camber limits.

I'll keep you updated if anything changes.

Definitely the right camber kits though!

Two different things entirely, although raising my car allowed me to get on my dealer's alignment machine.

Here's some facts:

*The dealer's alignment machine couldn't fit my car at the 2.5" drop height.

*Pro-Import's alignment machine didn't have a problem fitting me - that's where I got my first alignment done three weeks ago and found out I needed camber kits pretty badly.

*I wanted to raise my car a bit for peace of mind and because I'll be moving and won't have my tech friend to adjust it for me for free.

*I got the camber kits installed and I raised my car about .65" all around. It was JUST BARELY enough to squeeze onto the dealer's alignment machine, so I got an alignment done there.

*Camber kits installed plus alignment was $100. Pro-Imports wanted around $500 for that work. That means the camber kits ($300) plus install ($500) would have cost me more in total than my coilovers did ($650 plus $120 install).

Hope that helps.

If Chod is still around, he might want to add those camber kit numbers to his FAQ so people can check there who want to get camber kits. But a bunch of stuff in his FAQ is out of date or not specific so maybe it's just not updated anymore.
