ok, the radio in my cl lost all of the lights behind the buttons and display. when the headlights are turned off the display will light up halfass but turns off when i turn the headlights on.

is there a fuse that controls this, or are the bulbs replacable, or does the radio need to be replaced?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM!!!
But my radio lights up normal when the headlights are off.
I found out a way to fix this, the reason the light is off when headlight is on is when i just start the car, and i turn the headlight right away. This will cause the radio light to switch off. What i usually do is wait a few sec before turning the headlight on.

If the radio lights goes off during middle of driving. way to fix it is shift to park, and turn the headlight off, and then wait 1 or 2 secs and turn it on again.

I'm pretty sure there are bulbs that can be replaced. I've seen people change their radio lights to blues using LEDs. First check all of the fuses, if that doesnt work i would say replce the bulbs.
