Radio

So im sitting in my car with the car off and the ignition on like a dummy wit my phone plugged into the charger while talking on it. So I finish my call and put my window up and noticed that the window was going up really slow so im like wtf, turns out that my battery was dead when i tried to start it but i let it sit wit the keys out for like 1 min and it started right up. Now my radio is locked up, and some how when I put in the code thats in my like manual that the original orner got when they bought the car, the code doesnt work. So now Im stuck because I dont want to pay acura no money, and the fact that I didnt buy the car from a Acura dealer I dont think I can go in there demanding it be unlocked because the code that they wrote in the book doesnt work.

Just call one of your local acura dealer and ask if they can get you the code when you have the radio's serial number or w/e it's called.

Search for the temporary solution, it's been discussed before.

I did a search on this subject before. Turn the key to the "acc" position. Make sure the radio is off and clear of any incorrect codes if so reset the headunit by disconnecting the battery. Press and hold buttons 1 & 6 on the HU. The serial number will be displayed. Give that to the dealer and they should give u the code.

Is there anyway that the code could have been changed from the time the original owner bought the car up until when I got it?

He could have had the HU replaced. There is a problem with the cd changers. And maybe he replaced it, and never updated the information on re-programming it.

To some dealers defense, a lot of them are clueless & DON'T know about that & quote an hour of labor to remove the head unit to get the # off the back.
I think having radio codes is just dumb anyway. If someone wants my POS stock radio let them have it.

A sticker anywhere in the car with the code is a DEALER done thing. Some dealers are good like that while others are not. There was no code posted anywhere in my 3 CL's. Or my friends TL's.

after the dealer looked up the history of my car, it turns out the reason why the code i had in the book didnt work was because the original owner had problems with the orinal CD changer and had it replace but never put the new code in the book. This now also explains why I have a horrible squilling noise from my back right speaker because when they took the radio out they obviously didnt install the new one correctly.

The speaker & radio are not related. The speaker is likely blown. There are no wires in the back of the HU just a plug & harness, There's no way to mess that up. Also the HU just feeds the signal to the amp which is behind the passsanger side trunk lining.

ok the speaker is no good, that was also another thought. NoW I need to find some good inexpensive speakers to replace them with. I want to keep the base cover on them though
