raced a WRX

i raced a WRX tonight coming home at 2 am. Pulled up at a red light just the 2 of us and i asked him if he got a stock WRX besides the exhaust. He said no he has some kinda turbo in it but its running close to stock times becuase its under boosted at 9PSI or something.Well anyways we take off he he left me behind so bad. when my shifted at 40mph into secound gear he was like 3 cars ahead!!!!!......oh well. I knew it was comin. He was a cool guy. he waved and all and i waved back.
Anyone know the stock times of the WRX and specs etc.???

Bahahahahah! I remember when I had my LS.
Some while WrX wagon got next to me. At this time i wasnt even boosting near 7. I had major boost leak, had intercooler damage.
Well, we were at a ight and i hear the slap nut rev. i mean this dude was up there already. I knew i didnt have a chance, when it turned green he had the jump already, he was about 2 cars lengths away.

i hate to break it to you, but the wrx does not run a 14.1 and 5.4. 0-60 i give it a 5.7 and 1/4 mile less than waht i ran cuz i beat my friends wrx 1/4 mile on numerous occasions. THe only advantage they have is AWD. launch fast but then lose power...i rolled with him in my stock automatic audi a4 1.8t at 25 when we both punched it by about 85 he was like 2 cars in front of me

WRX's and S2000 own us from a standing start. We own them if the race begins at 65mph

yeah my friend with a CL-S raced one through a twisty section of road(I think all the WRX had was a CAI) and it wasn't super twisty but enough for a average driver going average speed to slow down. but that WRX just STOOD on it through the corner. cause I gave him one of my 2 way Motorola radios when he raced he was just pulling away through the curves and I said man just shut it down cause I don't want you to tear up the car or maybe you. then he slowed down.
SO NEVER race WRX on curves.
a S2000 will come pretty close to hanging with them. but with it being RWD it has to slow down more through the corners but if it's a stop light race between a S2000 and WRX i'll give the win to the S2000

I don't know about that with the S2K. On the highway their engines are already spooled up, all they have to do is downshift quick and they're at peak power. A couple of guys from this board, Mantis23 with a CL and Hanzie with an S2k, raced on the highway and the S2k won everytime, if I remember correctly.

It's been done, I've personally seen a 14.2 out of a stock WRX. It all depends on how much abuse the driver is willing to dole out on the launch. Wind that puppy up to 5-6,000 and dump it, if you are a halfway decent shifter you'll be low-14's. I have no idea on the 0-60, but I think some of the mags have those numbers so somebody somwhere did it.

Later,

Be careful of turbo anything
I had a 92 Talon TSI AWD STOCK....a little messing around(0 $ kind) and all of a sudden you are in the 13.70's.....no exhuast, no intake, no new turbo......nothing......be very careful...they don't cost much but they will SMOKE you

picking between the evo and the sti is like picking between the maxima and the tl-s...if u have the money go with the sti (likewise with the tl-s) But the other car will still be dead even with you.
