Raced a Thunderbird for $$$$

So I am following the wifey and my boy home in my car minding my own business, and a '02 or '03 Thunderbird comes flying up behind me out of nowhere, pulls up along side of me in the left lane, paces me and then nails it. I jump out from behind the wife and start to chace him down. Ooops!! Cell rings, it's the wife and all she says is "be careful". So I follow this guy into a residential area and he puts his fourways on and waves me up next to him. To my shock this guy is like my dad's age middle 50's and he says, "$20 says I can take you to 60". My response, "Lets do it!" So we wait in this subdivision and watch the lights on the 4 lane road (2 each way) and when it turns yellow we both pull out and line up. Torque break it to just about 1000rpm light goes green, minimal spin and I put a half car on him off the launch and I streched it to a car and a half at 70 when I shut it down. Yeah I know we said 60 but I wanted to make sure there was no question. He flew by me, pulled over, we both got out and he says, "Wow I didn't think those things were that quick, what have you done to it?". Me, "Nothing its stock", he hands me my $20 and I drove of with a smile on my face. Go home and the wife says, "Well at least you made me some money!"

Funniest thing I've read in a while.

Coincidentally, the History Channel had a show today dedicated to the Thunderbird (original 50s one). Seatbelts were optional.
