Raced SC430

Driving back from Boat House Row in Philly on Route 1, see an SC 430 black with some tight rims, maybe they were 19's or 20's but they looked good. The guy pulls up next to me shakes his head, I knew it was on. I had 2 friends in the car and they were screaming for me to race...

Waiting for the light to turn green, I switch it to SS mode, ofcourse I know the car is much faster then mine but whata hell I'll race...

Light turns green and we were off. OMG he just flew away from me its like I was standing still... WOW that car is QUICK!!!

Pulled up again at red light... dude pulls down his window and lights up a sig, I ask him if he has any mods done to his lexus he says none, tells me his name is Chris Rado and to check out his site www.chrisrado.com, says he races for a living, I didnt even know he was a professional racer. He told me his lex had 340 tourque. It was quick, I was really surprised.

Any one else had any experience with SC430?

..."As with many Japanese luxo-vehicles, the powerplant doesn't feel up to its promises, perhaps as testament to its smoothness and refinement. Our impressions were substantiated at the track: The 4.3-liter VVT-i V8 engine, with an output of 300 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 325 pound-feet of torque at 3,400 revs, wasn't good for the 5.9-second 0-to-60-mph sprint as promised by Lexus, nor does its quarter-mile run of 15.1 seconds at 95 mph match up to the numbers of the GS 430 or the LS 430. It is ULEV-certified, and its 20-mpg average was impressive, given its size. The convertible's 0-to-60-mph 6.7-second run should be enough for most thrillseekers, and the exhaust note, routed through the twin pipes in the rear, emits a pleasing, decidedly deep-throated rumble. Very unlike a Lexus."

I think u got beat so bad cuz u had 2 other people in the car with you.

I'm stock, and i just came from the local races...raced my friends integra. I figured I could at least run with him pretty close, I was wrong--he had intake, headers, exhaust and manual trasnmission, beat me by 4-5 car lenghts by the time i was going 95mph...I guess Its time for me to get some mods starting with an AEM intake...

Please tell me you have a CL-P.

I got a 3.0 and I've yet to have problems with regular tegs. You shouldn't have any problems with them.

ya thats a good question ..do you have a type S?
using SS from a stop turn off VSA by touching the button marked VSA once...you should see a triangle light with an ! in the middle...move the shift lever to the left...from a standing start just give enough gas that you dont roast the tires but some chirpping is ok it'll up shift on it's own to 2nd no hold on as your speedo approaches 70mph and more importantly you tach is right on 7K push the shift knob up once quickly at this point that integra should be many car lengths back...now smile you beat a car that you previously lost to

Excuse me? CLP not nessessary mean SLOW!!!!!!! There are several quick CLP around!

BTW, whoever you are, who raced all these car and lost... You made us look bad.... did you full throttle all the way, and sat there burning out, OR did you turn off your VSA, or use your autoshit instead of SS or gate shift? or were you sleeping at the light????

I have raced several SC430, i had them by like half car at least, especially when he has huge rims, you shouldnt have any problems with them at all, cuz they are high14s, low 15s cars..... at least i didnt have any problems with them and YES, MINE IS CLP.... of course not a stock one.....
