raced a red 99 stock NSX and was not impressed

i raced a stock nsx tonight and was not impressed i was pretty much on his ass the hole time. the only time he would pull a little was at high rpms but we raced 0-125 and he won by less than half a car. he looked at me like HUH?? anyway i thought they would be faster than that. i have raced one before that had shit done and it was pretty fast but still.

There's a world of difference in performance between a 91 NSX and a 99 NSX. Like night and day.

Is anyone else besides me getting sick of all the BS race stories?

I beat an M5.

I killed an S4.

I murdered an 911.

Gimme a break. This place is getting worse than the IS300 board.

i raced a bmw 540 last night, he beat me by over half a car, it was auto too, AND he had his snow tires on while i have my stock tires. i was so pissed, its my friends 97 or 98 540..i was so pissed cause i kept telling him that i would stay beside him or beat him...neither of us have any mods.

i was NOT on SS, and VSA was on, cause it was raining a bit and the ground was wet,

i also think that a lot of these stories of Stock CL-S's beating all these cars are a little exagerated.

i remember reading that a memer KILLED a 6-speed new 540

this was a auto race, both just floored it, so please no comments that i dont know how to drive, or whatever.
i wasnt that pissed, cause we picked up some deadly girls last night

can someone explain this?..actually i think i'l start a new thread

okay this is like the 20th time I'm gonna bring this story up. My lowred type S was keeping up w/ AC's 540 from 0-80. dead even. I used 1st->2nd->3rd. not ss and vsa was on for me and off for him.

On the high way, our cars have no chance against that beast. All its horsepower just kick in the 540 and just takes off. I was doing WOT and he almost ran into me so I had to move over.

Now w/ the headers from 0-110 diff story. but after that forget it.

As far as racing is concerned, I think that a lot of people underestimate the Type-S. I have lost to many M3's and 540's and other "FASTER" cars by very small margins. The bottom line is the driver and the situation.

As far as the NSX is concerned, sounds like he was not WOT or he was playing with you. Then again, maybe he did not know how to drive stick or did not want to beat on his ride. Too many variables.

I agree. If I don't launch properly my buddy's CL-S will hang right with me. I usually walk away after he hits 4th. Your cars need to be manual!

Yeah, there's no reason to be impressed. The NSX is just a pretty boy car. It has no real horsepower - it's all fake basically. That published BS of 0-60 in about 5 seconds...don't believe the hype. When Acura built a performance oriented car as their flagship, we all know the it was a CL and that the NSX was just a poser (esp that cheapo Zanardi edition!)

You guys forget that there is an auto NSX. Even for the 2001 model year the automatic tranny NSX is fitted with a 3 liter engine that makes 252 HP and 210 lb-ft of torque. Both of these numbers are worse than our engine but the secret lies behind the weight which is 3110 pounds. He will win but not by much. I would not be surprised to see an older auto tranny NSX do the 0-60 in 6 seconds which would justify the half car length provided you are in the mid 6s.

Did you ever stop for a moment and think that the M3 or 540 driver "let" you lose by a small margin? I do that shit all the time to "lesser" cars, basically just to fuck with them. If I'm racing around on the street against a car that I know I can beat, why should I beat the hell out of my car when I don't really have to? What do I have to prove by really killing him? Most of the time, once I get out in front, I let off a little and let the guy gain some ground.

I'd rather win by a little and give the guy a story to tell to his friends. (Yeah bro, my Integra kept up with an M3, he could barely pull away from me, I was right on his ass) LOL

When I used to do organized street racing (for money) I did this shit ALL THE TIME.

I didn't really call you a liar. I'm sure in YOUR mind you kept up with an NSX. But if the NSX driver was posting on this thread, his story might be a little different. He probably didn't know that HE was racing you. Only YOU knew that you were racing the NSX. Get the point?
