anyhow I ended up racing the 04' tl and an 02' M3 and I was owned big time

I didnt want to race the M but hey what the heck and the car takes off and you never see it again...very impressed I must say...I think he beat me by around 3 or more car length to 110 mph

Ill let the owner tell you what happen but all I can say is I had a great time and a pleasure to meet you guys and the crazy girls

Definetly had a great time and all of them have beautiful cars not a scratch on them.

On my way home last night, I took an M3 (mid 90s I'm guessing) by at least 10 car lengths after 90. Off the line, he got 1 1/2 cars on me cause I wasn't pushing it in first; but when I nailed it in 2nd and 3rd, I flew by him. He looked shocked when he caught up to me after I backed off.

However, a late model M3 probably would have given me a good race in my S/C'd '03 CLS 6sp (305 WHP/262FT-LBS).

dAMN from the looks of that dyno ...you need to persue raising the rev limit by about 1000RPMs

How much do those sc's run for the CL? And is it Completely necessary for a dyno tune after installation? and what boost do they run?

questions questions...

1) The CT S/C for the CLS 6sp cost me $5186 installed (including new battery, labor and tax). The dyno cost $80 for 4 runs. CT also did a complete inspection of the dealer's S/C install and said the install was done perfectly.

2) There was absolutely no tuning done after the install. The dyno was only for a reference between my last dyno and with the S/C installed. I wanted to see if it was worth the cost - and it was to me.

3) Max boost was 3.6 PSI according to the dyno raw numbers. This was the exact number CT quoted me before I bought the S/C.

Wow that is really great. So the charger would go for about 3500? Does it have to be dealer installed? I have done SC install before, it is pretty straight forward...

I guess that 4lbs is the max that the stock tune can handle. I bet you can run some pretty sick numbers past 4psi though... Of course, an ECU piggy back or another management will have to be run...

I guess if your dealer did the install you are retaining your warranty? Or is that not the case?

Thanks again, I know its a bunch of ?'s

Actually, raising the rev limit does absolutely nothing for performance according to CompTech and other professional racing organizations I've talked with. After 4900 RPM, TQ starts to drop off and just before the rev limit is hit, HP is just beginning to drop down . So extending the rev limit would accomplish absolution nothing. The best gear shift point is between 5800 and 6800 RPM, so the next gear up gets put right into the max TQ/POWER range. The only thing that extending the rev limit does is put unnecessary wear and tear on the engine.

The SC can be gotten for around $3900 new, cheaper if you buy one used obviously, there have been a few available.

My 5AT feels awesome with the blower, i'd consider running the higher boost pulley, but not with crappy California 91 octane. If we get an ECU upgrade, i believe you can then run the HBP on 91 octane. I'm waiting to see what my next move will be.

My dealer has installed all of my mods, so i will have no problems with warranty.

I could have installed it myself, but I didn't have the time or energy to do so and frankly, I don't think I could have gotten a better price installed. And consider that the dealer did the install, they have stated there are no warranty issues. Now if I throw a rod or break a crank, it would be pretty difficult to prove it wasn't S/C related. But other than a catastrophic failure like a blown engine, there aren't any warrant issues.

Thats a real bitch (91 octane)...

I guess if you are going for big power you need some new internals... I can run 10-11lbs on my stock config...

What year is your car? Is it the 1st gen? Also, what is the NON-roots option? (as in, who makes the centrifugal kit)

Thanks again...

Good deal. I figured all of that, just making sure. Thanks for playing 20 questions with me... =)
