Raced a Cobra

I pull up to the light next to a guy in a 97-98 white mustang cobra, next thing you know he starts revving and we are off. I was surprised that he only got out to about a 1/4 car lead, and the margin remained the same until about 75, where we shut it down due to traffic. I couldn't tell if he had a stick or auto, but if he had a stick he probably couldn't drive worth shit because of the margin of victory. Overall I'm still proud of my baby for keeping it close.

All Cobras are manuals.

Almost didn't have the heart to post since not only was it a Cobra, it was a Cobra from Houston. The guy must really, really suck driving to not walk away handily.

Either that or 4 of his cylinders weren't working Those cobras are hard, even I have a hard time keeping up with em if the driver is good, otherwise, I keep right with em with a normal driver.

That gen Cobra is equivalent to the current gen GT. I believe you 100%. I raced a friend with a Cobra and I couldn't catch him, but he couldn't really pull away either.

pull_t's cobra is a '98 (which is that gen to which you refer) and I can assure you that we have no hope of keeping up with a decent driver. the '99s might have been slow initially, and the pre-twin cammers might not be all that, but the '98s are significantly faster than the cl-s.

this is not to say I discount the kill (as anything could have happened) but it certainly isn't a typical event in the cobra versus cl-s universe.
