Raced a buddies G35 coupe
all i can say is damn they are quick for stock. he had about 2k miles (auto) on the car. i got an auto TL-S with h/icebox. better tires too. since i suck at launching, he eats me 1 car off the line. i slowly pull my hood to his front door by 60. till 100, still struggling but pull almost all the way neck to neck. 100-110 i finally edge him out. i gate shifted and hit rev limiter the first time in first gear which screwed me a bit.
the second race, i didnt hit rev limiter but my launch was even worse (i just floored it). wheel hop and the rest. still even the second race, i edged him out at 100.
i thought i could do better especially with headers and icebox but hey, that coupe can move. anyone else have any results to share.
lastly, could i consider this a win? I did take him slightly at over 100, but that is beyond qt mile time.
i was thinking the whole time that i would of easily beaten him if i had the UR pullies, but those things scare me still. oh well, it was fun anyways.

after 110mph you would of been toast. on the CLs 4th gear is overdrive, will take alot longer to hit your Vtech. on the G35 auto only 5th gear is overdrive. also i raced a CLs in my G35 sedan both stock and from 100-110 i still had him. so you mods must of just pushed you above. race stock for stock and you wouldnt be questioing if you can call it a win.

also, even in 4th he would barely pull. if i shift very close to rev limiter, i can almost fall into vtec (4800 rpm) in 4th. yes the coupe starts to gain, but its only for a short moment and then we just cruise along each other.

VTEC.....not VTECH....btw, the car is always in VTEC. VTEC is a system not an RPM range.

funny how he said we are bitches with autos. i guess it is my fault since the TL only comes in auto!
one thing i should of mentioned, if we had done a race from a rolling start, i would have beat him for sure. i have a slight hp advantage but traction issues are what kept me from taking him in the beginning.

great run, sounds similar to my highway run with a G35C (don't know if it was auto or 6mt. I would pull on him hard in 3rd to about 110ish... but we're sooo fucked when it comes to 4th gear.
