Quick please: Ebay item won!! Should I trust this?

OMG, I just won the ebay auction, Comptech Headers with downpipe for $500!! What a deal, if it's true. Since it's too good price to be true, I wanna get some advices from you guys before I pay it. Should I trust him? He only has 4 points in his history and seems like he never sold anything before. He prefers paypal though.

dude, you won the auction now pay the guy. if you were concerned about it being legit, you never should have bid.

I was going to. I'm just asking one more time if there's a big chance of risk or obvious swindle with the auction. I just wanted to see how you think about it. and nevermind. I will just pay.

Little late now I would think. But should be okay ... suggest you pay with PayPal as I think they offer some protections against fraudulent sellers.

I'm going to pay with paypal. But how does paypal protect me? What should I do if they send me other products (OBX, etc)?

If he has pics of the tops of the headers we could see if they said Comptech on them.

Doesn't PayPal hold off payment to the seller until the buyer has confirmed delivery? If not then they are no safer than sending a money order right to the seller, right?

they are safe but they dont handle refunds of any kind its up to the SELLER.. i just saw an episode of judge judy with a woman sueing a guy from ebay and they went over all of the the paypal and ebay stuff.. ONLY THE SELLER CAN ISSUE A REFUND PAYPAL AND EBAY CANT DO ANYTHING OTHER THAN CONTACT THE SELLER IN ORDER TO TRY TO REMEDY THE SITUATION. BECARFUL WHO YOU BUY FROM AND CHECK THERE STANDING WITH OTHER BUYERS BEFOR YOU BID

i agree that this auction is a misleading one. Those are probably not comptechs and are some other brand. Possibly OBX or even alphawerks. If they are OBX, you are gonna be paying a helluvalot more than they go for retail.

I believe that they are Comptech and that you got a hell of a deal. Supersize the picture of the "J" pipe. I think that's the Comptech name plate tacked on the bottom. Also the stamped in serial number on the flange looks like Comptech.

I got a great deal on some axle backs because the guy didn't list Comptech in the heading and they didn't show up under the conventional search. Could be sellers lack of knowledge on Comptech value and not knowing how to market them for the highest price.

Definitely use PayPal and a Credit Card but I would be surprised if you had a problem with this deal. Let us know when you get them. I'm willing to bet that they are Comptech when they show up on your Door step

Thank you for information. I realized the headers in the picutre are Comptech, too. But what I'm curious about is if he just used the picture and the website for just comparing with that product. Anyway, I sent him an e-mail and waiting for the reply. I'll let you know when I get an e-mail from him.

matt g, I just noticed, those are a set for the 6 speed. Good you point that out, I didin't even think of it before. Also, that is a comptech bag with flanges, and bolts. Do a search, maybe the pic came from somewhere else, if not, should be good to go

I agree with you ferrari he should pay, but if he would of asked everyone first then they could of jumped in on the deal. but still no excuses, he never said they were comptech and you agreed to contract

THOSE ARE CT's. No one else makes a 6 speed version & that is a 6 speed version which is why the bend is on the rear header pipe. They will also fit a auto fine.

there is 1 other brand that is for the 6 speed, and it was from Stone racing, i sold them on ebay a while ago and these could possibly be them, but i doubt it since it looks like it has the comptech badging on it

Picture definately looks like Comptech. Name plate on the A pipe and if you look closely, there is a name plate on one of the headers.
Hope that what you will be getting is what was photographed. If it is, then good fine. Unfortunately, you've got to pay the man to find out.
Keep us posted.

Since when were the 6 speed stone headers for sale? Last I heard they were still in "production" but never went on sale. A few test ones were made for a few members & that was it.

I emailed him many times to make sure if it's comptech, but he replied me only one time that just says the total price (shipping fee). he doesn't answer because it's not comptech? : (

Well if the guy is not selling exactly what he has in the picture of his auction he should specify somewhere within the auction that the picture is what the headers look like and actual item may differ.

It seems a bit risky.

The auction isn’t very clear.
It definitely shows a picture of a Comptech 6-Speed header and he links to their website.
But it doesn’t specifically SAY that they are Comptech’s and he doesn’t answer it in your E-Mails.

The seller may be wrong or somewhat deceptive, but YOU had the option of not bidding on the item.

don't trust it. i know if i was selling comptech headers on ebay it would say COMPTECH right in the auction title. and the fact that you can't get a straight answer...

that's tricky, i've come up on a lot of stuff on ebay for cheap because the seller didn't know what they were holding onto and didn't label the way they should of to bring in good money

The guy listed them as "TIG welded stainless steel header and downpipe". What does the TIG stand for?
