Quick brake and rotor question

Quick brake and rotor question

I have been searching through the forums and it seems like the Axxis Ultimates are the brake pads for me. Now, my question is are getting slotted rotors that beneficial.? I understand that they will help with prolonged braking on a track but on normal street driving will there be much of a difference? I just want added bite but if the rotors make that much of a difference I might be tempted to get them but if it won't help much then I would like to save my money. Give me some advice guys.

I think personally that slotted rotors do have there benifets. But realistically if you're just doing normal street driving they would be more cosmetic than anything else. I went and got some drilled and slotted from irotors.com. Not the best I will admit. They are just OEM rotors that have be drilled and slotted, but they look real cool. All I do is normal street driving and I havent really noticed any difference at all as far as breaking goes. But I did it more for looks than anything else. If you really want to get something out of it you have to spend the money. It all boils down to the size of your wallet.

Trust me on this one. For the TL slotted is the best.

Brembo blanks are so cheap you're better off buying them and replacing them when, or if, they warp.

^the brembo blanks have the same warping problems as the stock rotors. I've heard this from many. I have beat the hell out of my Rotora slotted rotors and there isn't the least shimmy when I brake. plenty of squeal, but no shimmy. I think the slotted rotors are worth the investment, so far no one has warped a set.

DO NOT GET AXXIS ULTIMATES they squeak like a mofo

i have rotoras and ultimates and will NOT go with that combo again

I've not had the same problem with my Axxis Ultimates. Did you apply antisqueak grease to the back of the pad?

Just try finding the Brembo blanks for the rear, I couldn't and I spent a lot of time trying. Ended up w/ Rotoras and Axxis, very satisfied.

I'm running Axxis Ultimates pads with Rotora Slotted & Cross-drilled rotors front and rear. Absolutely NO problems whatsoever. They bite like a mo'fo and are as quiet as a mouse. But do I think I’m truly benefiting from them being cross-drilled and slotted in everyday use on the street? Hell no. But they sure do look cool.



If they squeal under braking that means they were installed wrong. (i.e. not properly prepping the rotors prior to install)

You can adjust the shims on the pads to get rid of the squeel. I have the squeal myself, but I just haven't got around to getting them adjusted. Also, they dust about 10x more than the stock pads. But the increase in stopping power is absolutely amazing. Totally different brake feel.
