I wanted to sell my 2001 cl type s for a toyota Supra Twin Turbo or Mazda RX-7 Turbo? I was just wondering which one would you choose or which one is better? It would be the newest verions of the cars. Thanks Alot

Im gonna go with the Supra Turbo. Very good resale, lots of performance mods, extremely fast, and if you wanted to go that way. Insurance I am sure will be higher, but I believe its worth it.

Both cars are sexy, but the rotary engine seems to have poor reliability than the 2JZ-GTE of the Supra.. So supra is the way to go!!

i would go with Supra since i believe there is much more aftermarket for it plus you can make it much faster than RX-7

Not sure what year i want but I want it to be an even exchange in price value of the acura cl type s... so it should be around 27 or 28 hopefully. If I need to i will in a couple thousand.

2 cars i'd look into is the Nissan Maxima stick 3.5(I know most guys hate that car on this board but it's still a pretty nice car)
and like you said about the Supra. Only bad thing about the Supras. Usually the people that want a reasonable price for them ran the pee out of them and the ones that are really nice have a unreal price on them but all in all if you can find a Supra in good shape good price go for it

How about a car that isn't played out since the release of the "Fast and the Furous."

i'd agree, but mostly because the prices on those two machines are rediculous becuase of the movie ... do something original is what aaron (4pumped) is trying to say ... perhaps a CL-S with hydraulics ... nobody's even thought of it yet ...

Supra ...... lots or power, good aftermarket, bulletproof engine, handling is good with mods, but can't even begin to get close to the Mazda. The Supra does have a *little* more room, since there is a vestigal back seat and a rear hatch area. Problem is, the car has been overhyped and was originally priced so high people think they are sitting on Fort Knox when they sell. Most have been pushed, but the engine is tough enough to take a lot of abuse. If you do want to consider handling over style, look for a hardtop with a sunroof rather than a "T".

RX-7 ....... very lightweight, very very small inside, absolutely razor sharp handling from the factory. Kinda like driving a go-cart with the power and response of a full size car. Much less expensive than the Supra, but....most have been thrashed and the engine is too sensitive to be treated that way. The RX is very sensitive to heat, and there is way more heat source crammed into a small space, its engine bay, than the Supra. On most of the RX's, the engine has gotten hot at least once, and the Apex seals are brittle and leaking. Look for at least a puff or two (usually more) of blue to black smoke on start and warm-up.

Before I got the CL-S, I looked at both. The Supe is built like a tank, with Toyota reliability. It was originally built as a high end sports car to compete with Porsche. The RX-7 was a production built racer, and requires the care and feeding of a race car. Not many of the 92-94s left that have been treated right. Most rattle and squeak and have had overheats. I still love them! Comparatively, the parts for the RX (which also has a great aftermarket...check Racing Beat) are cheaper--but not by much.

So, what is your priority?....raw power?, straight line?, handling? interior room? aftermarket? I would say keep it all in mind and drive them both--stock--your butt will tell you which one you like the most.
