questions about HKS exhaust

I went to a shop to look for rims and this guy said they had exhaust for my CLS. He was selling the HKS for $525 and $40 for install. He said it was only a rear bolt on. I'm not sure but I thought the HKS exhaust was a cat-back system. Is this a good price? I wasn't thinking of getting exhaust but the price sounded tempting. I don't want a high pitch sound or a loud sound while accelerating. I want a deep note thats loud when you want it to be loud. I don't want exhaust that will wake people up in the middle of the night. Any comments guys?

I have that exhaust. It is axle back, like the comptech. I personally would look for a price about $100 under what you were quoted. Talk to blxmjx, he has the hookup. As for the install, I did it in about 30 minutes, and it was the first exhaust i've ever done ...

The HKS has the sound your looking for. Infact, its not all that loud at all. Louder that stock, but not like a Greddy EVO something like that on a civic. Very deep tone, but its VERY Clean sounding. I wish it was a little louder at WOT, but oh well.

Thanks for the response guys. Am I really getting screwed with the price? I thought 525 was good for the HKS

I am also looking to buy some exhuast and was wondering which is the loudest! I would have something a little louder. I was told that the comptech sounds almost like stock unless your at WOT and even at that point their still not that loud. I was also suprised to hear that some of say that the comptechs are louder than the HKS draggers!. What about the Greddys where do they stand in the volume range when compared to the Comptech's and the HKS's.
P.S. If any on has any pics of the Greddy's on a CL i would love to see them.
THANKS!!!!

HKS is the one you would look for but at a lower price than that.

The instll took me like 30 min. with a few wratchets. Do it yourself

If you get the headers it will make it a little louder.

Z on this board also has the Gready.

Well I'm not in the habit of repeating myself , but if you talk to Arnold (blxmjx) he can get you a MUCH better price.
