question for you electricians

i'm thinkign about retrofittign a small profector fog light into my road lamp housings. if i spliced the wires with the original road lamp wires do you think it could handle 55 watt H3 halogen projector?? basically i'm trying to make sure they wont blow out.

That's the least of your worries. The road lamp housing will melt if you stick a 55w bulb in there.

They're only plastic housings.

Carry a small extinguisher

Wiring is too small a gage, and the use won't handle it- a small set, 20-30 Watts, might be OK.

Just put in the PIAA 19224 18W bulbs, and they LOOK COOL!!!!!. My lenses may melt, but it's worth it!

I have regular fog lamps mounted inside my plastic housings. They're 12v 55W. Anyway, I used the wiring that came with the lamps but I'm pretty sure they're a little thicker than the stock wiring. It isn't hard to just run a couple lengths of wire to the battery... I've had zero melting/heat issues with this setup. I DID have a little discoloration way back when I put the 18W PIAA bulbs in the housings. I think the fog light housings spit alot of heat out the rear through a couple slits. Go figure...

Thats the exact same setup i want to do Seattle but fit these in there or something like them

you think you could give me some wiring directions?

Do you guys think these would melt the housing?? if i glued them in at the black part??? or were you thinking i was going to stick just a bulb inside the housing??

I used the Hella micro de xenon foglights with oem switch, but I mounted them outside of road lamp housing in the lower grill. They come on when the road lights are on. . . has a nice effect with just the road lamps and fogs on.
