Ok, the reason I posted this stuff in the first place was because of this braggin' thread from the fresh alloy forums!
here's the direct quote from the thread:

Raced my friend in a CL-S the other day...

He was behind me at a light and called my cell phone to ask if "i had that thing broken in yet." I looked down and saw 250 miles on the odometer and said "broken in enough to beat your sorry a&&!" I took off traction control, reved to about 2500 rpms and when the light changed I peeled away very quickly. I looked in the mirror and it seemed like he was standing still at first. When I hit second gear I chirped the tires again; 3rd gear, looked in rearview mirror - by this time I had about 100 yards between us!
He said he lost grip with his front wheel drive and had to let off the accelerator for a second. By that time I was well ahead and pulling away.

Needless to say, he was impressed. He wants a new car now!

1 14.0s Car Vs... 14.6s (best) car... do the math...

Now add CT headers and light weight rims to the CLS-6 and its a driver race (hole-shot race).... I still believe that the CLS would lose at HW speed...

100 yards by 3rd gear, yeah that sounds about right

people love their own cars, blindly.

i tried to tell some fools over at maxima.org that the new 6mt accord coupe was gonna be as quick if not quicker than the maxima/altima. they acted like it was not possible and i was a mag racer.

some people are so ignorant :thumbsdn:

Matt,

I saw a couple in Beavertown (Beaverton), one own by an order guy, and he wasn't interested in a stop light run by Murry Hills.

ive run one 350Z from a roll and i pulled on him by 2 cars, before i was spraying...i think they could take us from the line, but any CL, modded or not should be able to hold its own against these...they have an advantage being RWD, but our 3rd gear is strong, either way...stock for stock i say its a drivers race

I think that it's all about the driver. With the 6-speed manual gear box, there's no VSA nor TCS for you to turn off. It's all about the driver's skill!!!! I have raced my 6-speed against different cars. I've raced it against my friend's G35 and I beated him by 1 and 1/2 car. G35 is quick with rear wheel drive and that's a fact. If you are a good racer, you should be able to compensate the difference. Don't forget that the first gear of the CLS 6-speed is quite tricky. You have to master the first gear real well to start off quicker. By the way, don't let that left pull of the steering wheel bother you and you almost hit the red line in 1st gear. Good Luck CLS owner!!
