Nope...just swap em and you should be fine. I would do an alignment once a year just to be safe.

Make sure your summer wheels don't need hubcentric rings. When you take off your summer wheels, look for a plastic rim around the wheel hub. If it's there, take it off before you put on your winter wheels.

I wait until the last possible moment. Usually the night before the first snowfall.
Last year was early. I think it was right around Thanksgiving.
I actually swapped my BLINGERS back on for a week and then had to swap again sooner then I thought.

The year before I actually waited until that week between Christmas & New Years.

I like to wait as long as possible because our engines run so awesome in the cool fall weather and I don’t want to smoke all the tread off my BLIZZAK’s.
This will be their FOURTH year and the tread is still like 70% or more.
I can't say the same for my nearly worn-out Falkens.

This is almost too obvious to mention....but I'm sure someone somewhere has blown it. There are three main types of lug nut seats, make sure you match up!

I like to clean the hubs and apply a thin layer of antiseize to the mounting surfaces on the hub to prevent corrosion. I also wait 'til the first snow falls. Probably wait real late this year as my summer wheels are coming this week.

when I take my summer set off (same with winter) I mark the inside of the tire with a crayon so I can keep track of the rotation when I'm ready to put them back on.

yeah a lot of people do that...fortunately for me, my timing was exactly 1 year and the tires (Pilot Sport A/S) r unidirectional, so rotation's a snap

I usually I swap mine out the last week of Oct.
Like others have make sure you remove the hubcentric rings if you have them. Other than that, give both sets of wheels a good wash before you store & install. An alignment is always good so the car stays in spec...and you may want to get the wheels rebalanced just for the hell of it (better safe than sorry).

Alignment and balance not needed, unless you feel something is not right. You may want to check you tire pressure..

I'm with Sly... I usually wait until the first week of November. Last year it was tough b/c I was living in an apartment.. but now that i have a house with a garage.... I'll probably just wait until they forcast the first snow and do it a few days before....

I also mark my tires so I know where they should go next season

Alignment could be needed based on how far off the offsets are and if the car is dropped. The balancing isn't needed but it's cheap enough, might as well do it in case a weight came off at some point in time.
