Question on Rotors/Brakes
Question on Rotors/Brakes
I'm new to this forum so please have patience with me on this. I've been reading some of the threads on the break and rotor problems because I have a 01 CL-S that now has warped rotors. It is still under warranty (just over 42K miles) but, I'm not sure how to pursue this at the dealership. Also, it sounds like getting them replaced with OEMs is pretty much asking to have the problem reappear in the near future.
Can anybody suggest a good set of rotors, pads, and lines that won't cost a fortune and will do the trick for longevity and reliability? I saw the group buy a while ago, but am not sure if that is still available or not. Could those that have had their brakes replaced recommend a web site and/or set of brakes for both the front and the rear (though I'm certain that it is the front rotors that are warped). Your help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

the group buy ones should still be available, just at a slightly higher price. there have been a couple so search around. Also there is a new 13"rotor and six piston caliper kit on the market. I don't know if you've seen that one but it looks pretty dope. click here. there is also a shot of Lou's brembos, which come in 13" or 12.4". Brembos are supposed to be the best, thats why they cost about $2,000. whats your budget? Dean was trying to a group buy on a cheaper kit. PM deansblueSI.
Thanks for the reply. I'll take another look at the group buy and check out the prices. I doubt I'll be getting anything like Brembos since that is way out of my budget for brakes. However, I would like to get a set that is fairly reliable.
