Question regarding rattles..

I have a rattle in the back right corner of my CL-S and i was wondering how many people took it to the dealership and they actually did something about it to fix it. I go in on Friday b/c i'm taking it in for them to install a new transmission due to the recall notice i received in the mail and i was going to let them know about the rattling. It's really starting to get annoying. Thanks in advance

Hey Rock thanks for the reply. So i don't have to actually take the cover off right? just go back and press down on top of it?

first, you probably won't get a new transmission, just the oil jet.

second, I don't think it's the speaker grill at all, it's the deck's design. If you take the rear deck off, you will notice that there are two hard styrofoam cubes underneath the deck, one on each side. I think these rattle against the metal frame. I've solved my rattle problem by completely outlining the whole deck with foam weather stripping including the brake light and some underneath those two cubes. I haven't had one rattle since.

Mine [the 3rd break light & the driver's door rattles] became unbearable since 2 dealers after 6 times of removing/putting together the entire door & 3rd break light - [errogantly] gave up - so I sold the car, while I could get still something for it - realizing that the rattle wasn't only in the car but in the 'service' . Good luck!

I tried to get the right back corner rattle fixed awhile back. They said it was the right back window. They had my car for a week, and it still didn't get fixed. My driver's side window rattles a bit too... but they can't "reproduce it" so they refuse to fix it. They're gay. I'm simply just living with the rattles these days :P

it's depend on your local dealer also. they do not care about the car as much as we do. a lot of times, i took the car for the dealer, they will just find an excuse to fix it (it is normal or can not immitate the problem) ....rattle is something hard to fix. IMO, if your dealer being an jerk about it, better live with it. I prefer they not touch and open everything on the car, did not do anything, and will result in more rattle after they open it...

It's pathetic what the world is coming to... i.e. if there is no 'LIABILITY', i.e. safety issues - they shall NOT 'waste' time even trying to fix it. Luxury brands I thought were DIFFERENT.. although Honda has not learned the aspect of a luxury make as in 'meaning'. Some of us do rather prefer to see 'progress'... and although I had the car almost paid off... with ext. warantee and the sweetest motors of all.. yet the rattles were bugging the HELL out of me... and I decided to 'give in'.. and traded for g35c. YES the 'refinement' is NOT there... yet the RAW power & exhilation - ARE ... It's all about choices & finances really..
