Question re clock illumination

I recently removed the top part of my dashboard (the part that houses the gauge cluster and contains the clock and climate control display). On replacing it, the clock illumination isn't working. The clock displays the time properly, but at night the backlight doesn't show on the clock. The backlight does work on the climate control area.

Another thing... When activating the alarm, the dashboard lights normally blink on and off. Does the clock and climate control light also blink on and off? I can't seem to remember, but I thought both of them used to. Neither one does now.

Right now my stereo is disconnected, and also the wiring harness which controls the dashboard light intensity (the lower control by the driver's side left knee) is disconnected. I tried reconnecting the light intensity harness but that didn't change anything.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what the cause might be? Could this be just a blown fuse, or something more serious?

On doing some further searching through the forums I see it's probably either a fuse or a bulb behind the clock.

But what I still need to know is do both the clock and the climate control "screens" blink on and off when the alarm is engaged and disengaged? Since mine don't, I'm wondering if it's something more serious than just a single bulb.

OKay, but is the climate control screen *supposed* to blink with arm/disarm, or not supposed to? If it is supposed to, that would suggest there are different bulbs for normal illumination, and for alarm blink illumination, since my climate control lights up when the headlights are on, but doesn't light up when the alarm is armed/disarmed.

Where can these bulbs be bought, and do you guys know the part number?

no i don't think the climate control screen is supposed to blink...i tested it out last night. ive never seen these kind of bulbs sold anywhere so i'm guessing you have to get them from the dealer. the only reason i've seen the bulbs before is because i did an led mod and replaced all those bulbs with led's.

I just talked to 3 different Acura dealers and could not get a straight answer on whether the climate control screen and clock screen backlights are supposed to blink when the alarm is engaged/disengaged. One said yes, one said no, the other said he wasn't sure.

I'm thinking that "buiyahkah" is correct that the clock is supposed to blink, but the climate control probably doesn't normally blink because it can have been manually put in the OFF position. The clock, however, is always on, and therefore probably does blink.

Dealers in this area want between $5.50 and $12 for the bulb, but I got the part number and am going to call some foreign auto places to see what I can find.
