Question for blxmjx!

How does your HKS exhaust sound?

I kinda wante exhaust for my CLS but the WAV files I heard of the Comptech axle-back sounded weak.

The HKS exhaust sounds really mean. The tone is a lot more throaty. If I can figure out a way to upload the sounds I'll do it for you. It definitely doesn't sound stock or ricey. Just deeper and a tad bit louder.

If you have heard the Comptech exhaust in person, how would you compare the two (loudness)? Did they bolt right up or did you have to make modifications? Where can I get them? Are they for the Accord V6?

Thanks

I have never heard a side by side comparison, but people have told me that the HKS sounds much better. I don't know first hand though. Yes they bolt straight up, its an axle back exhaust, so it took about 20 minutes to put on. Several people have asked me about the exhaust so I'm working on that for the next group buy. Yes the exhaust is actually made for the accord v6.

I'm interested in it if it sounds better than the comptechs!

To me the Comptechs were $600+ for just a new set of pipes that didn't sound much different.

I'd like a deep rumble.

How much are the HKS Super Dragers?

I think they are as much if not a bit more expensive than the comptech's.

I have the Comptech exhaust, and I can tell you it sounds nothing like the WAV files I have heard posted anywhere. I tried to record my exhaust from my laptop, but it is impossible to get the right volume level so it doesn't sound distorted.

IMO, you have to hear the actual exhaust, Comptech or otherwise, to get an accurate account of what it is like.

When I'm inside a parking garage just driving normally, I really notice that my car sounds all raspy and pretty silly.

Does the HKS give it a nice rumble instead, when at normal throttle?
(If it does, I'm sold.)

I was surprised how quiet it was. I was listening for him in the parking lot and he crept by. When I did hear em, very nice sound! Maybe we should all clone his car

Well I would think any car is quiet when it's coasting. I just want to replace the crappy raspy stock sound with a rumble.
