Question for anyone

Where can I find the vehicle MPH at redline for the 6 speed CL? I've seen it somewhere but can't remember. I'm lazy to pay close attention and run through the gears, so .....

Ok, wait'a minute... So according to that chart, if there was no rev limiter on a AT CL-S, it would be good for a flat out top speed of 251mph??? Of course, I know you'd have to have miles, upon miles of long straight road to do so.

No, that's the theoretical top speed based on gearing. The car doesn't make enough horsepower to overcome the air resistance at anywhere close to 251mph.

guys. i think you guys read his question wrong. he's asking the approximate speed that can be reached at the top of each gear upon redline (on relatively flat ground). i wouldn't know about the 6spd, but i know that my A/T hits 40mph at the top of 1st, ~65 at the end of 2nd, ~87 for third and i have yet to hit the top of 4th redline.

And the question was answered with this link right here:

Also, top speed per gear has nothing to do with what pitch the road is. It's the simple math of gear ratios. Top speed in top gear has to do with gearing AND horsepower due to wind resistance.

And if you're maxing out 2nd at 65 and 3rd at 87 MPH your car is shifting at about 6,000 rpm not 7,200.
