Question for ANY and ALL CL-P AND CL-S owners
As I said in an earlier post, I was sending my CL-P in the shop for a camshaft recall. I got it back today and I'm trying to figure out if the recall was a good thing or a bad thing.
Question 1: Do you feel Vtec kick in when accellerating?
(I used to be able to notice it in 3rd around 4k rpm; now it seems unnoticable and completely smooth all the way through)
Question2: Have you reset your ECU before? If so, does that make the car accellerate differently?
(I think they reset the ECU because my seat settings were gone, my clock was wrong, and I had to put the code in to use my radio when I got my car back
)
Thanks to those that answer the questions...my service rep called to see if I was satisfied with the services and I don't know what to tell them yet. I'm still trying to figure out if this was worth me being stuck in a ALTIMA 2.5 S-low all weekend long.
Thanks,
Oscar

I don't recall any notice of a camshaft problem.
After searching the NHTSA.gov site, the only recall notices I could find applied to the '01 and '02 TL in regards to seat belt and power windows.
You probably meant to say a Service Bulletin. But I still don't see any one specifying "Camshaft" listed on the site for '01 and '02 model years.

When my engine accelerates and goes thru the upper RPM ranges, I feel the "G" force from the VTEC as it kicks in. Especially with the CT headers...it's very noticable.
The ECU would automatically reset when the battery is reconnected.

i'll agree it's not as noticeable being that we have a SOHC setup, it as very noticeable in my integra GS-R because of the DOHC
but it is there and if you look for it you'll notice it. for some reason i've noticed it more in my car which is a 6 speed than my friends auto. maybe because of the added weight? who knows.

Although the slushbox was also a TLP, not a TLS...

i think the cam shaft recall is only for the 03 cl-p...on some selected VINs only. call acura customer service, give them your vin and they'll tell you if your car is or isn't part of it.

this is all good, thanks everyone.
But I think I'm still gonna question the dealership because before the recall I could feel vtec (or at least I think this is what it was) kick in. The car got a surge of power.
Now its kinda plain and not as enthusiastic as before, howbeit the engine seems a lot noisier.
Oh well, I'll see what they say.
