As you have seen in my pictures, I have the weapon-r intake on my car. Well everything is great except that at idle, there is a humming noise that sounds too loud to be normal. I have had intakes on my cars in the past, but never had a sound like this, almost a vibration type sound. Do any of you get this noise. Weapon-R says its normal for the V6 engine. They also said I dont need a bracket to mount the intake. Do you think a bracket would help reduce this humm, and/or maybe a strip of dynomat on the underside of the tube to help absorb some of the noise?

 

As I recall this humming has been a major reason why production from AEM and Comptech has been slow. For whatever reason it seems like our cars hum when an intake is put on them.

The hum is from the double resonance throttle body...it makes a hum sound because...I think....the air from the intake is, basically, funneled in at low rpms...but to hell with the noise...you can't hear it if your cruising...and I know you love the sound of the intake when the VTEC opens full throttle!!

I just put on a Weapon R. They did not give me any instructions with it. I have 3 brackets and have no idea what to do with them. Also how many clamps did you get. 2?
When the car is cold and I start it up I can really hear the motor sucking in air.
