Question for all!!!!!

Please answer this.

When I am reading race stories CL-S with automatic cars. People saying mybe this person doesn't know how to drive. Explain how hard it is slaming on the gas pedal and hold it until you reach speed you need.

How hard is it?

He doesn't know how to drive.
WTF is that mean if he driving automatic car.

Anyone agree???

The first mistake is to floor it in D5 rather than using SS mode.....
That is one.... Chicken out, .... Curvy road..... and more...

well... at the start... you can't just slam the gas with a CL-S... i mean if 2 cl-s's were racing, one brake torqueing and the other isn't... the one that is brake torqueing will take off on the other... maybe that's something that could merit that the other driver "doesn't know how to drive" the car

If stop-light racing is the only kind you do, it's pretty difficult to screw that up. A monkey could drag race. Try the type racing where the road goes right and left and it's quite a different story.

Depending on your tires you might not want to slam the gas
right away. If I do that with my stock, I end up just squealing
my tires for a bit.

It feels like it's better to go most of the way for just a tiny moment, then go full out.

But yeah, SS is still better because in auto it will shift at 6800 rpm.

while it doesn't take as much skill to launch an auto there is still some skill involved. you have to figure out w/rpms to launch @ by brake torquing and if you have too much wheel spin how much to let off the gas to gain traction.

What about if the driver uses torque braking? If so, at what RPM, and how much wheelspin?

More applicable in street racing rather than at the track.

In automatic, pushing down all the way on the accelerator and holding it there is rare. Even if you think that's what you are doing, next time check closely. Are you really holding it all the way down to the floor the entire time. At the track, certainly. On Hwy15, probably not.

Bro that's 100% NOT true....racing isn't just putting the pedal to the floor, it's actually something that has to be well thought out....because think about it when you are racing your doing several important things at one time....your maintaining/checking your speed, looking out for cars around you, looking several cars ahead of you trying to plan out a safe route through traffic(assuming there is traffic), and try to make sure you don't kill anyone......it even become harder when you add turns into the equation b/c you have to do all the stuff mentioned b4 AND look for the best straight lie to take through the turn and make sure not to take the turns to fast cuz u dun wanna skidd out.....racing isn't just pushing a pedal its pushing a pedal while trying to keep yourself and the people around you safe....
