Unhappy Question on acceleration

Okay Guys & Gals

I recently finished doing somewhat of a moderate tune up to my CT SC Cl-S 6spd w 92k on the clock. I changed out plugs, coil packs, IACV w/gasket, EGR valve w/gasket, oil change/filter, cleaned CT air filter and re-oiled, cleaned TB, changed wipers and got new battery. I have connected all sensors back, SC pulley tension is corrrect and IMRC/Actuator is working correctly.
For some reason I was getting the up and down idling and my code machine is telling me that is IACV. That issue was corrected with a reconnection of a vacuum line.

But now when I step on the gas in 6th gear I get a small hesitation/delay response, normally it happens when RPM is b/w 2-3500. It does not do this in any other gear or above 3500RPM. Could it be that the actuator is not adjusted correctly? Could be due to mixing 87 and 93 octane? yes! due to gas prices I do 50% of each

Any ideas? Please help

Not sure if this helps but did you get the connectors mixed up when putting it back together? Couple people have had that happen.

Never mind, would prob happen in all gears and CEL would be on. Also why not just put 89 octane instead of mixing? Essentially the same thing right?

The easiest way to check is to fill up the gas tank with a full tank of 93 octane. See what happens. But I am sure you have heard this before....for every 10 gallons of 93 octane, you are only spending an extra $2 ($.20 more per gallon then 87 octane). Much better fuel for your car.

i cant believe you cheap out on gas but drop all the money on ur car.

even the na cl-s need premium. ur sc'ed and ur not even going all premium. I think u need to get ur priorities straight.

that's like saying I'm gonna go buy some wicked clothes and because that cost me a lot and food prices are a lot as well, i'll just eat junk food cause it's cheaper but i'll still be fine.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING for a car is the gas u put in it.

it's the same as the water we drink

the motor will actually last longer and run better. ur just kicking urself... plus lots of time u actually get better mileage with premium gas so therefore it doesn't cost any more money

91 octane or better. Nothing less. Thats why you have hesitation. And youre supercharged - WTF? How much are you truly saving per tank by doing a 50-50 mix??

89 is 91 and 87 mixed so I guess 93 mixed with 87 would be slightly better but still not as good as 91.

Actually it would be one octane higher 90 instead of 89.

Because I initially posted my thread in problem and fixes sub-forum. I never got a response and it's dead over there.

+1

put 93 like you should be doing. if your worried about gas prices you shouldnt be supercharging your car.

Most likely it is the gas. I had an 03 maxima a while back and tried to use regular instead of the recommended premium fuel and it knocked. So I could def see the fuel being the culprit. But could it also be sparks? Possibly a bad spark plug could cause low compression?

From your other thread:

It feels somewhat like a small delay and it lunges forward like when you hit VTEC. I dont hear any pinging/knocks. It does not seem to do it on any other gear. I was thinking may be the actuator cable is not adjusted correctly when I reinstall everything after removing old plugs.
You wont hear pinging or knocking because the ECU retards timing enough to bring it down to a minimum.

Retarding timing = less power = hesitation = poor performance

Lower octane fuel burns faster, I bet the difference your saving by mixing fuels is wasted due to the lower fuel economy.

Run a few tanks of JUST premium (91 octane or better, preferably 93). Let the ECU relearn and report back.

well, I fueled up this morning on my way to work with a full tank of 93 octane. I tested the 6th gear acceleration and did not feel the hesitation. I will test on my way home tonight to see if everything is back to normal. BTW, have always mix grades since 2003 with no issues in the pass. May be I just need to do 60/40 due to ethanol crap. I will post result later

The drive home tonight was good. No issues of hesitation or delay in accelerations while in 6th gear. So problem was corrected with higher octane.
