just hardwired my valentine one everythings working fine. Disabled x-band and usually leave it on L on streets and A on highways. My question is though, yesterday i've driven around with this for about 3 days now (good amount of driving each day mostly local) and my KA has never gone off ONCE. I get tons of K band and i got laser once, but never ka. Is this odd? Also, I passed by a cop and nothing went off, i figured he wasn't using his radar but it happened on the freeway too that I passed by a chp officer and nothing happened. Is anything wrong with my v1 or is it just me. Thanks guys...sorry if i sound noob

 

No it is not odd... Most CHP officers use Ka as an instant-on... You will find Ka more often used in rural highway areas. My Ka never went off until a trip to Vegas I took, went off several times and saved my ass....

 

what do irvine cops usually use then? i've passed by like 2 and nothing went off! i know v1 doesnt equal 100% protection but i guess its just striking me weird that the first few cops i've passed by since getting the v1 have set off nothing

 

Unfortunately, they use Laser/Lidar. They don't use rolling radar much. CHP uses K and Ka (and laser). Other city cops, like Newport Beach, use constant-K when driving.
