Put urself in my shoes... (long but pls read and reply)

There's this kid at school that SWEATS my car....... He's absolutely in love with it......A couple of months ago I was playin' around with him and told him that I was thinking about selling my car, of course his eyes widened and asked me how much..... I told him i was thinking ~$24,500 WITH all the mods (he's a little wannabe racer/pimp) or $22,500 w/o mods...... Needless to say, he wanted all the mods 'cept for the System..... I didn't take him seriously, didn't think he really wanted to buy it........

Get this, he comes to me about a week ago and tells me he talked to his mom and she was really thinking of buying it for him..... She hasn't even seen my car yet...... At first I didn't really think about it since I was joking around in the 1st place but now that I think about it I'll never get offered that again 'specially for a CL-P........

I posted a couple months back that I was thinking of getting an Audi A4 1.8T Quattro 5/spd because of everyone complaining about their trannies........ After they (ACURA) resolved the situation w/ the extended warranty I lost interest in looking for a new car......... BUT, now with what happened with Amir (Shyne) and reading SilverBullets experience with his dealer I'm thinkin of crossin over again....... I've been a member of Audiworld.com for a while doing some research and seems like the 2003s are flawless (all the bugs worked out on the '01 & '02s)

What would YOU GUYS do in my situation? I've got ~$11,000 left to pay on my car but I dont' wanna be in a situation like Amir or Ashburner or anyone else that has gotten phucked on the highway; and I'm on the Highway alot.

I'm seeking OPINIONS more than ADVICE..... Just curious to see what someone else would do in that situation...... But all replies welcome (even flames).

- sorry it was so long

Thanks

Not him, he said his MOM was thinking about getting it for him..... Yep, he's one of those, trust me...... Dunno, maybe she wont', but he does brag about how he gets everything from them and whatnot.....

I don't have my hopes up but it's nice to think about what COULD be.. New Car

big diff between an A4 and a Z!

Will he (his mom) be paying the 24k and take over the 11k?
If so, they're dumb and you should try to take advantage of dumb people.

Personally, I'd get an S4 instead of an A4. Get their money, buy a used Kia for $500 and drive that while you save up for the S4

And I still see quite a few 2003 A4's with blown outbulbs on the rear so electrical problems may not be 100% fixed from previous years...

For a CL-P, I think it would 'behoove' you to take that I don't see any big problems with the 2003 1.8Ts either, and after a chip/exhaust/downpipe, you should be able to match the looks of that car. I must say, Audi did well not to make its A4 4x4 style...anyone else think the stock height is lovely?

If they are willing to pay more than it is worth, go for it.

sell it

My buddy just got a 2003 A4 1.8t

Yeah it's slow and he already rode it up on a curb (opps) but it looks sweet inside/out and has great potential.

make sure you tell them that you have a CL-P not a CL-S...you don't ever want that coming down on you later...just a heads up

I'd go for it... I'd sell my car in a heartbeat, but I would not get the Audi. G35c for me please.

hmmm... so if you sell it for 24.5, and then you owe 11k, you'll have just 13.5k to play with. You can put that down for an A4 (let's say you get the a4 for around 26k........you'll owe around 12.5k (before financing).........basically you'll be at around the same situation since you already owe around 11k......... I SAY DO IT! Nothing like a new car, the a4 is HOT...... Maybe the S4 isnt for you if you really dont care that much for performance, you can always tweak the a4 anyways later on to make it respectable........ sorry.....I think this sounded like advice....

If you have a good chance of un-loading your CL-P, I would go for it. IMO, I'd go for the 350Z. Good luck.

Except instead of focusing on an A4, for me anways, what's more important is to have a car with a NAV. I'm not sure if this is you...but for all those other people that kept on saying "woulda, coulda, shoulda" on the NAV...this is your 2nd chance!

Are you sure about an Audi?

My buddy is leasing an A4 1.8T/Quatro. When he picked it up last year he was all excited about it. He couldn't believe the interior quality (I agree).

I asked him a year later and here's what I got.

He say's it lacks low end torque until the turbo kicks in. By this time, our CL's are a few car lengths ahead!

Then he tells me he spent $700.00 having his wheels fixed as all 4 were damaged after hitting a huge pot hole.

Get this, he had an Acura and went to Audi. I wonder what his next car will be?
