pushed the cl-s to the limit

well

i almost wrecked the cl-s today

i was driving on this super windy road today and i wanted to see how fast i could take them

bone stock

she didnt do too bad with the first couple of turns although i took them at a good 50 mph

then on the second to last turn i pushed it a bit harder and i was going at least 58 and there goes the rear of the car fishtailing like a mofo. i couldnt tell if VSA kicked in because i was trying to control the car but damn that was a rush

it was a good thing there were no other cars on either side of the road or it could have been real nasty

you are a fucking moron

would you have gotten a better rush if you killed a little girl? i'm guilty of a speeding ticket in my life but you don't take a 60 mph turn w/ a supped up accord w/ springy suspension and expect it not to fishtail out.

I believe that EVERYONE of us have done something dangerous in our lives but your remark has no good intentions

why do u have start off by calling me a fucking moron?

your argument suggests that you are indeed "guilty of a speeding ticket" so i guess only people that take turns fast are "fucking morons" and people who get speeding tickets well i dont know, please elaborate more of your wisdom because you did not classify this type of "reckless driving"

your statement only makes me assume that what i did was completely henious and evil and is nothing anywhere near dangerous than getting a speeding ticket

i guess i should have emphasized the meaning of this thread

i just wanted to let OTHERS know about my experience. Hell if somone posted this same thread a couple of days ago i would never have taken those turns that fast.

Yes i do agree that what i did today was dangerous. Do i regret it? YES. Would i take it all back eventhough i didnt KILL ANYONE? YES

I felt that my car could handle it and i was wrong i am just fortunate that NO ONE GOT HURT OR KILLED

FYI it wasnt one of those yes this is a cool rush it was more like oh shit i cant believe what just happened rush

if what i said in my earlier post has angered you in someway please elaborate some more and dont give a sucker punch by just calling me a "fucking moron"

Chill out guys... I'm just glad that nobody got hurt and nothing got wrecked. Y'all drive safe, ok?

I gotta say I've done the same shit, except that I tend to increase the speed by wee little bits, and once I feel the rear wheels slipping, I ease off. Don't really want to fishtail. Done that once unintentionally. Car skidded across 3 lanes, spun just short of 360, and just missed hitting a streetlight. Scared the hell out of me. Good thing it was late at night and the roads were empty.

If you wanna push the car to the limits, don't do it on the stock rubber, it fucking blows.

I got Toyos/T1S Proxies put on this morning, and its like NIGHT and DAY! Highly Reccommended.

Nice response Al Koholik. Maybe we should lecture you about drinking. By the way, don't come driving with us in our souped up Accords here in Sacto., we'll scare the crap out of you.

well i didnt do it to see when my the cl-s was going to lose control. I FELT that the car could handle the turns. IMHO this car has a pretty good stock suspension. there was no way my 6 gen accord could take those turns, neither could my mothers lexus LS 400. these cars could barely take them at 45 mph! i was going 50 mph and it felt good, well until the last turn when i took it at about 58. the last curve must have been a shorter angle or something.

I'll put $20 on my Accord against _any_ CL-S owner on this board when it comes to the twisties.

Stock or modded, bring it. In fact there is a lovely clover leaf exit ramp for I-10 and I-49 where you can go in a never ending loop.

The stock suspension on the Accord is pretty much crap compared to the CL-S but if you modify both, the Accord will always have the advantage, in my opinion, since it weighs less than the CL-S.

Ever seen Miata's at an auto-x?

No apology needed. I wasn't offended, just offering out a friendly challenge.

Stock vs Stock I have no doubt an Accord would get smoked in the twisties.
